Sorry I misspoke. Obviously he would not be acquitted, but a hung jury? Does it just get retried indefinitely?

Guess that's one way to keep him away from the Presidency.
If I were a prosecutor and I got a hung jury due to a Trumpkin I would totally retry him. People are more honest than you might think and even if they aren’t Trumpkins are only 8% of DC. It is literally the most hostile jury pool on earth for Trump.

and when you point out to them he wasn't entitled to ANY documents per the PRA they just claim "it wasn't illegal" or point to Hillary.

Laughable but scary to see the level of brainwashing in this cult
The bigger problem is that the espionage act applies to classified and non-classified documents, so it doesn't matter whether or not he declassified the document. But I'm seeing on conservative social media this idea that he declassified them so he committed no crime. That's simply not true.

But if you ask them for proof of declassification or a paper trail you get crickets

I already had to tell someone Trump can't just wave his hands and say "oooga-booga" and declassify every document in the US

Can you imagine if he gave copies of the most sensitive of the docs to some of his supporters who then post them on the internet if he is convicted? In retribution against his country whom he views as having rejected him last election and is now destroying him? His former attorney Michael Cohen believes that is how his mind works and is the reason he kept those docs, as a get out of jail free extortion card.

I am highly confident he will both be indicted and that a jury will convict him. Really the indictment is the larger hurdle to me, if this goes to a jury Trump is fucked. I imagine a DC jury would probably ask to convict him at the start and skip the trial.
Jon Stewart disagreed with you in his podcast. He said trump will somehow walk right through this with nary a scratch.

Well more MAGAtard trash to arrest then

Wow, this contained ORCON level classification as well as apparently information related to our operatives in other countries. This is the top secret of the top secret.

Honestly I don’t see how the DOJ doesn’t indict him if for no other reason than to preserve the classification system. If people can hold documents that could literally get people killed in the room next to the pool this shit means nothing.

I gotta agree with Jon. Trump is indeed a "Teflon Don." Nothing that matters will stick to him.
I think Trump’s presidency skewed people’s perceptions pretty seriously.

When Trump was president he was for all intents and purposes immune from criminal prosecution so whatever crimey shit he did didn’t matter. The only recourse was impeachment but that needed 67 senators which was never going to happen. So we all saw Trump get away with everything for four years which made people think he has some magic power to get away with things. No. He had 34 senators.

That’s why he will be indicted now. He’s no longer protected and he was never special.

Jon Stewart's comment is why I believe it would be difficult to convict Trump of anything.

BTW, HomerJS is correct. That vile House candidate Luis Miquel is a real person and he was banned from Twitter for his threats against feds.

It’s not his presidency, it’s his entire life...other than some monetary losses, he’s never been punished.
