Which has limited utility right now except fur squeezing dollars out of small donors. Dollars which the Republican candidates in the midterms need a lot more than he does.

The next stop on this train is likely "well if he's so guilty why don't you indict him under the Espionage Act".

Is it really "limited" if the grift is his entire reason?

I don't see how releasing the affidavit is, in any way whatsoever, helpful to Trump as some people on the right have claimed it could be.

He and the people around him involved are in very serious criminal legal jeopardy.
Seems like the endgame for Trump honestly. He's just playing out the only moves left to him with a very weak hand. His main efforts seems to be focused on creating as much confusion as possible.
  1. He was calling for the search warrant seizure receipt to be released. He could have released that himself. When there was a delay in the release he attacked the DOJ and accused them of conspiracy. The release of the receipt was damaging to his credibility. Why did he call for it to be released? There is no rational reason for him wanting this to be released.
  2. He called for the affidavit to be released. The affidavit implicates him and his inner circle in obstruction of justice. There is no rational reason for him wanting this to be released. He has attacked it for all of the redactions.

Trump is a traitor to this country. Always has been (well, at least since the late 90s) and always will be. I guess some people just need to see it proven in a court of law…but then some of them still won’t see the truth that’s as clear as daylight.

Just playing the suuuuuper long game to make sure he roots out all the pedophile blood-drinking lizard people controlling the government, that's all. The ends will justify the means, ALL HAIL Q!

Well trump put out the expected pre-prepared press release in response to affidavit that he is the innocent victim; and his followers will surely believe him because they are dim-wit morons. I really hope they put that sucker in jail and soon; though the real pity of this is just how moronic many people are these days. This is nothing like the clinton email bullshit where they tried to show she had items that were classified AFTER she received them; here the guy deliberately and actively refused to return papers (or trophies as he probably likes to call them) he knew he had. He absolutely has no understanding how security work and the fine line between useful and compromised information.

I am still not confident the DOJ can convict Trump of anything.

It does not matter what we proclaim as we stick our chests out. It matters what can be proven and believed by a judge and by a jury.

So far, no one has been nailed for the Jan. 6th attack, except some minor players who broke windows and sprayed crap at cops.

I am really waiting for someone higher up to go down.

Well I think they have a lot of evidence. They have sworn statements that they returned all papers with classified markings and yet they found papers with classified markings in his residence. Even if he had 'unclassified them' which is doubtful - it would still be a crime to retain them. The sworn statemtns that he didn't have them makes this a more serious issue.

I hear you. But I am really not confident prosecutors can nail him.

Sidney Powell and other lawyers who promoted the big lie have not yet been disciplined. Just Rudy, whose law license was temporarily suspended.

I am highly confident he will both be indicted and that a jury will convict him. Really the indictment is the larger hurdle to me, if this goes to a jury Trump is fucked. I imagine a DC jury would probably ask to convict him at the start and skip the trial.

I keep seeing conservatives on social media writing this off with "he declassified the docs no big deal." The amount of confusion they are sowing is insane.
and when you point out to them he wasn't entitled to ANY documents per the PRA they just claim "it wasn't illegal" or point to Hillary.

Laughable but scary to see the level of brainwashing in this cult

The indicted I can see but I don't know how you can seat a jury without Trumpers? Only need one for him to walk.

I hope you are right; you have more faith in juries than I do. Seems like it only takes one nitwit to screw it up.

The one I sat on really sucked, and I'll do anything I can to not do it again in the future.
