How could one serve on jury to convict anyone ever if we have to have a conviction before someone would be justified in convicting someone?

Apparently some don’t understand the point of discussion boards like this. To them the only way to discuss a topic like this is to simply report what has already been reported. No personal opinions based on existing facts and evidence are allowed. Apparently, the mere discussion of talking about a crime is a violation of “innocent until proven guilty”./eyeroll

So you think those codes stay the same forever,

How do you know the document wasn't in Mar-a-Lago before Biden took charge?

All we know right now is that it was found somewhere it shouldn't have been. We don't know when it got there. The *assumption* is it arrived in the post-election White House clearout.

Before I even start I am going to say that if a Mod decides I need a timeout for what I am about to say I won't fight it but this is not a call to violence of any kind just a realistic view of the situation and a safe bet with what I know about TS/SCI classifications. Please have mercy on me.

If I was guilty of having even a few of the secrets that Trump had at MAL I would have been tortured for all information I know, who I was working with, and then executed by a shot to the back of the head. I wouldn't even expect a military tribunal much less a criminal civilian court trial because I wouldn't deserve a trial.

I believe the point is if the guy literally has the Nuclear Codes and your reaction is “Meh they changed the codes” it is pretty hard to over come that. I would find it hard to think of something more secret.
It's only a secret when the codes are active. When that information expires it's last weeks winning lottery numbers, worthless.
Obviously I don't know all the ins and outs of the system, but I can say with absolute certainty that thirty seconds after Trump left office he had no ability to issue a launch order.

I'll say it again, the things I want out of this issue are charges, an arrest, and a trial. I want all the dirty laundry out for everyone to see. If Trump is convicted by a jury I want him jailed.

You should move to the USA where things like that almost never happen. Here you would have the right to an attorney and a trial. It would have to be proven beyond a reasonable doubt that you had committed a crime. Twitter evidence, or what "everyone knows" doesn't count. It's not a bad system.

So you believe Trump should be charged and tried?

A trial is only needed for the government to take away your freedom and punish you. Public opinion is always free to hold people to a standard lower than beyond a reasonable doubt. Please just drop the remains of your brain in the trash if you think you need a trial before you can form an opinion on criminality based on what we know to date.

Not according to Trumps handpicked judge ~ the FBI must not investigate, because it might be harmful to Trump's public reputation, was one of the core arguments in her decision...

I think the Rosenbergs were the last Americans executed for espionage.

It wasn't just the codes and it may not of been the codes at all. Complete red herring. Just admit that you don't believe any republican can ever be guilty of a crime.

Also a metric shit ton of data that isn't current is still classified, as anyone that has ever dealt with it knows.

Hey if I steal proprietary algorithms from a major tech company they just stopped using, you think they'd go easy on me lolol

Greenman's the kind of guy that would go on this jury already knowing he'd hang the jury if needed to get Trump off. He's already trying so fucking hard.

don’t agree but fair enough. What type of “secret” information would be considered a no go, nobody should have them hanging around your house or golf club?
Being a little vague is fine, I am interested in what is considered non negotiable stuff that should be in the former Presidents hands.

Confused. Why this nuclear code talk? Having records of a foreign country’s nuclear capabilities is a huge breach of security. Once it’s confirmed which country, if them, demand the US to extradite him immediately for execution.

He is claiming we are all jumping to conclusions and we need to have a trial showing a crime was committed. At the same point he's already making excuses for Trump if he's found to have committed a crime (i.e. the nuclear codes change all the time so no big deal if he took them).
He's pushing the "he needs to be charged and tried in court of law" because he is hoping the courts that Trump had stacked before leaving office, will rule he committed no crimes. So when they do not convict him, he (they) can claim he never did anything wrong and was innocent all along. Just like the impeachments and other crimes Trump is blatantly guilty of as he committed them right in front of our eyes.. yet because no conviction (impeachment for example) or charges, to him and most of Trump's supporters, It never happened. This is what people with their heads shoved up their asses call rational thinking.

So you think those codes stay the same forever, and anyone that has them can pick up the phone and call in a strike? You also think the codes are the only requirement for ordering a strike? The guys in the silos compare the numbers to their list then fire off the missiles at whatever target they're told to hit?
It's complete bullshit. Perhaps you missed the sarcasm in my post, but I assumed pretty much everyone with half a brain would know that it takes more than a pin number to murder a city. The codes Trump is alleged have are worthless, he could post them on facebook and it wouldn't matter.

Lets circle back around to what actually matters. Trump needs to be charged with a crime, then the evidence needs to be presented, then a jury get's to decide if he in fact committed a crime. All the "evidence" presented here has a value of exactly zero. This thread is nothing more than a hate fest where you fellows can find like minded people to agree with your beliefs. While I have no problem with that, don't think for a moment that your conviction has some veracity. It's chest thumping and cheering, it's the empty victory of having your beliefs vindicated by like minded people.

Not sure what point you are trying to make. Just like most other topics here, people come on here to DISCUSS. Hence called a Discussion Board.

But seriously, what element of this do you think is even in contention? Trump took the documents, didn't return all of them and lied about it. There is abundant evidence even this early in the investigation. He's had the opportunity in court to affirm that he declassified the documents. He didn't. He's not the shy type yet hasn't even proffered a rational explanation as to what happened. Let me ask you, what explanation are you waiting to hear, that would be rational that you think would excuse any of this?

it's sad that you are on a "geek" board, and you can't see past your own bias to see where you are wrong. Even if the codes are changed, it only takes 1 to be missed. Or the codes, can be taken/given to an enemy, even though they may have been changed after he left office, and the information could possibly be the last piece of their puzzle in cracking the algorithm used to create the codes, which means they could possibly generate their own codes that may or may not work. Or do you think their is some guy in a back room using a lottery number ball machine to create such codes? Pretty sure you can agree that it's all done by computer using an algorithm. If you doubt such possibility, step back and just think about Credit Card fraud and how much of it is done by knowing the algorithm and creating card numbers without ever even having access to the actual account or card.

I said what I said as an American citizen that almost had TS/SCI clearances before I got myself out of the USMC due to a psychological issue (I recognized that I was a sociopath and the USMC was the worst place for me). If I committed any other crime I would demand a trial, even if I gave into my darkest desires.

It's really quite fucking flawed. The amount of systemic injustice based on wealth and race and power and influence is fucking insane in this country. Completely nuts.

Trump having nuclear launch codes at Mar-A-Lago = "MEH, they more than likely changed the codes anyways when Biden got elected so no biggie..." <--- MAGAS

Judge won't force disclosure of records on alleged episode with Hunter Biden's gun. "HE NEEDS TO BE LOCKED UP!!!" <---MAGAS , without them even knowing any details other than MAYBE he had a gun that MAYBE was thrown away in a trash can, MAYBE. lol.

Trump could literally commit murder and MAGers/GOP would downplay it and give him a pass. If Hunter so much as jay walked? He deserves to be in federal prison.

Nuclear or not, if Trump possessed top secret docs he should face penalties. If he had some and they are now missing (re: the empty folders) he should be responsible for that. Just like any other private citizen.

His legal team of course will be fighting to delay any trial until the GOP is back in power, they know all this will be wiped away. THAT is the thing to fear here...well, that and this unqualified judge with severe conflict of interest that is already showing that she is inept (or in team Trump's pocket). The 11th circuit (iirc where appeals go) is packed with Trump appointees too.

If Trump gets a fair trial and isn't found guilty so be it. The problem is that he may not get a "fair" trial, he might skate due to judges that support him and a shitty system that lets Presidents pardon anyone they want, for anything.

Again the question to ask is: where would any of us be after those docs were found in our house? Being questioned in a tiled room most likely. Instead Trump is "golfing" (or whatever that mafia style meeting on the golf course was....)

And if you could find an honest "Conservative" (look under any unicorns you encounter), ask them how they'd feel if the FBI found these docs at Pelosi's place, after giving her months of notice to turn them back in. I'm sure it would be "why are they pestering her at her private place", right?
