I really hope this topic is short lived, and nothing interesting happens...

Because if terrorizing, abusing, and shooting Americans with a private army was not enough...
All Blue States and Cities are going to lose ALL federal funding, "effective" February 1st, 2026.
Or so Dear Leader says... we'll see if he TACOS out... but it sounds like he already alluded to this earlier.

Quote: "FEAR NOT, GREAT PEOPLE OF MINNESOTA, THE DAY OF RECKONING & RETRIBUTION IS COMING!”

His promise is the end of our Union, our social compact. Taxing a people and not delivering upon the agreed payments and services as determined by Congress. This is a direct violation of taxation without representation.
Wonder how old SCOTUS feels about that.

If not... States will have to scramble to figure out adequate responses. Some might suggest a tax rebellion, but that would be economic warfare that'd rapidly and wildly spiral to... who the heck knows?
Suppose the question after that would be, who fired the first shot?

Trump Announces Stunning Plan to Defund LA, NYC, Chicago, and More

“EFFECTIVE FEBRUARY FIRST, NO MORE PAYMENTS WILL BE MADE BY THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT TO STATES FOR THEIR CORRUPT CRIMINAL PROTECTION CENTERS KNOWN AS SANCTUARY CITIES,” declared Trump. “ALL THEY DO IS BREED CRIME AND VIOLENCE! If States want them, they will have to pay for them! MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!!”
In compliance with an executive order signed by the president last year, the Department of Justice has published a list of jurisdictions with sanctuary policies that includes 12 states, as well as a number of major cities, among them New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Boston, Philadelphia, San Francisco, and Seattle.

In normal times that would be grounds for impeachment. we do not live in normal times.

If a Democrat said that they were going defund red America the press would be going batshit because they are the only ones who matter. Funnily enough my increasing desire to punish rural America for their treachery is actually being carried out by Trump himself lol.

Shame there isn't a really easy/viable way to withhold payments to the govt at the state/local/individual level.

Maybe we should have state militias. We could organize to protect Minnesota.

What if we just quit buying stuff? That really is the only super power we have. Besides food I've only purchased 2 things since black friday. It's hard to get excited about shopping when you know every purchase is tying the rope tighter around our necks.

This is a very viable alternative. Necessities only.
