American law enforcement and intelligence agencies intercepted the communications around the same time that they were discovering evidence that Russia was trying to disrupt the presidential election by hacking into the Democratic National Committee, three of the officials said. I read that the press secretary was specifically asked today if campaign staff had contact with Russia and it was denied. I don't know if that's accurate or not, if it is, I assume they are continuing to set them up and catch them lying.
