If I'm not mistaken...Trump can't run as an independent. All republicans signed a pledge not to do so.

“I [name] affirm that if I do not win the 2016 Republican nomination for president of the United States I will endorse the 2016 Republican presidential nominee regardless of who it is. I further pledge that I will not seek to run as an independent or write-in candidate nor will I seek or accept the nomination for president of any other party."

So...every one of the Republican candidates signed a pledge that they would endorse Donald Trump if he were to win the primary, so I fully expect all of them to support his campaign in the general, should Republican voters choose Trump. Perhaps future candidates should think long and hard about blindly signing their names to such a document.

Reince Priebus probably won't have a job after this is all over. Forcing every Republican to potentially have to endorse Donald Trump for President is nuts for putting them in such a bad situation.

In signing the pledge, Trump may risk losing some of his appeal as a political outsider removed from partisan politics. But campaign-law scholars said he would not invite any legal blowback should he change his mind.

“I don’t think there are any legal consequences,” University of California, Irvine law professor Rick Hasen told the Guardian after reviewing the Republican party’s pledge. “It’s hard to see this as an enforceable contract.”

He can the agreement is essentially a "Gentleman's" agreement there is no legal grounds to do anything.

Even Dick Cheney came out against this ban. He called it "against everything we believe in."

Even a broken clock...

Not exactly the guy to look to as an authority on American beliefs and values though. If only he could have mustered this kind of thinking when he was ordering helpful detainees to be waterboarded. Maybe he's trying to appeal to the Donald as a kindred liar and hypocrite.

Exactly my point. Every politician is against Trump. There hasn't been an issue in the last 70 years that brought together every politician from every party against something like Trump's statement. Even Dick Cheney is called Trump un-American. That is pretty telling!

Anyone who is for this policy isn't aligning with any political party on this issue. They are birdies with their mouth open looking into momma Trump's eyes as he fills their bellies with his vomit.

Nope, its unilateral not just with the candidates and we aren't talking about immigrants, we are talking about every muslim.

Give this a couple of days, Trump's numbers will hold, and the rest of the field will swerve further to the right along with him, just like every other time "well this time he's gone too far" and the media piled on and the rest of the field tried and failed to use it to gain on him. The hedging is already starting:
http://www.politico.com/story/2015/12/trump-muslims-gop-support-216548
And his numbers are holding:
http://talkingpointsmemo.com/polltracker/public-policy-polling-trump-islamaphobia
And how many governors just last week were trying to completely ban Muslim refugees from their states? This will blow over faster than mocking the crippled reporter, which I think was the last "too far" but I can't really keep up anymore.

I bet his poll numbers among Republicans go up because of what he said. Trump knows what he is doing, he knows the kind of idiots he is dealing with.

Sure is, but I went for a different angle because really, for people fed up with the establishment, disapproval from the establishment doesn't really count for much. A more specific framing of an example was called for IMO, so I went with their common bond of torture. Anyway...

Anyone who is for this policy isn't aligning with any political party on this issue. They are birdies with their mouth open looking into momma Trump's eyes as he fills their bellies with his vomit.

Poetry.

ROFL, oh say it isn't so, are the voters and political parties at odds over something? Just let us know how we can make amends so the parties won't get mad at us again.

Bottom fishing for partisan snapper. Fortunately for Trump, racist yokelfish share the same season and there's no limit.

Poor Rafael. He's got a nice boat and all, but Trump has found a sweet spot and god damn is he chummin it up.

michael1980 needs his pep talk and political talking points from coach. Can't think for himself.

This place is a liberal circle jerk paradise, all you guys do is jerk and blow each other off.

The group think in this place is firmly on the liberal left side of the playground.

Would you fucking relax. There is more to life then bashing liberals. Go have a Bourbon and talk to a woman. fuck.

Haha. Watching Fox News blaming the media for covering Donald Trump.

Fox helped create the Frankenstein monster and now they are bitching about him.

Voters? You mean the minority of dumbasses that support trump?

I've said it before and I'll say it again; Trump gives crackers a bad name.

My theory is that he is trying to get every thinking man and woman's brain to explode before the election, guaranteeing a sub 50 IQ electorate. Genius!

Anyone who is for this policy...

Is seeing a different policy than the lens of hate and bigotry you view the world from.

I see card carrying extremists being vetted and passing our present screening. Our government is acting in blind ignorance with open border policy. Which is why more than half the nation's governors say Syrian refugees not welcome, which is why MURDOCH Backs Trump: 'Complete Refugee Pause' Makes Sense...

You take a situation in which ISIS begins to flex operational capability inside the United States, via our open invitation, and you dare tell us not to stop them?

This is an imminent attack, one that can be largely avoided if we simply don't invite it. If we don't cause it through a blind and broken screening process. TEMPORARILY halt entry to the United States from citizens of Islamic nations until we come together and find screening that works. That does not provide a green light for the next Tashfeen Malik to come here and kill MORE Americans.

Blood has been spilled. Do not let the next time be on your hands.
