I really doubt that's a simple causal relationship. At least, any causal-relationship between the two things could just as easily be the other way round from what you imply. Or both being a function of other factors.

I mean, I think even _I'd_ be fairly happy if I lived in Hawaii (and could afford to do so). And I'm so glum I'm probably single-handedly responsible for the UK's position on this list (which has the UK second only to Uzbekistan in terms of people being miserable).

That asshole is not only failing to denounce the threats of violence he is encouraging more with those comments. I remember back in 2016 when two indian it workers (they worked for sprint) were shot dead by a drunk man because he thought they were asian as a result of Trump anti-asian statements. That asshole should be charged with murder for every death he can be linked to the past 10 years.
