MAGA electoral strategy so effective that it caused a historically disastrous 2018 election, a Democratic trifecta in 2020, and a giant underperformance in 2022.
But yet they still got stuff done and held a Presidency.

General expectation is there are 60 votes for cloture. 10-12 R Senators who just want to get this over with.

That is probably their biggest "accomplishment" for the 4 years, since it has such huge implications and consequences that we are already bearing.

But legislatively, they did Jack shit (minus aforementioned TCJA)
And what did Democrats get done during the same period?
I think putting the Supreme Court in solid conservative territory is a huge win that will pay dividends for DECADES.
The lower courts to a lesser extent but similar amount of time.

Sadly only those on the left voting in full force isn’t enough to get it done. We need the pcgeeks and greenmans of this country to finally wake up and see just how bad their party is. That means they actually have to vote against their party and not just sit on the sidelines. If they decide not to vote all they are doing is giving the extremists (the magas and the ultra right wingers) a louder voice.

Based on this thread though, I don’t have hope of those types of republicans coming to their senses and doing the right thing. If they can’t even muscle out a post condemning such anti democratic behavior and an unwillingness to address their number 1 issue, then I can’t imagine them actually taking the time to vote and to vote for the party that was actually willing to address their issues/concerns.
If they had any brains they wouldnt enable fascist traitors. I think you expect too much.

Ah I was too cheap to pay for HBO and I’m not starting now.
Thanks.
HBO's back catalog is absolutely incredible. My friend does a thing where once a year or so they get it for one month, watch all the stuff they want, then cancel. It's a good deal for like $10!

I'm good for an annual Sopranos rewatch, Band of Brother's too but that's on Netflix now.

Enabling them doesn't really hurt their self-interest, and enabling them is the best way they see to deal with undesirables.

Greenman gave away the game in the posts I quoted. He doesn’t care if things don’t get done, his politically ideology tells him obstruction and road blocks is best when it comes to government.

I was watching a report the other day that Trump had pulled as many as 15 million independents and democrats into the republican fold. The R's in congress appear to be terrified of his influence in their party and home states. It enough for them to not act in favor of any interest, at least until the election is over. I wonder how many of them secretly want him to lose?

Some Senate republicans are further along in processing their stages of grief than others:

This man has literally turned himself inside out over recent years.

It kind of hard when you don't have majority. Civics 101.
