This is so disappointing—not because it isn’t stuff most of us already knew or suspected, but because the messenger is such a tool. Fuck Bolton. Seriously, fuck this guy. Half the shit he writes about Trump forming foreign policy based on “gut instinct” is likely true, but also quite a bit of projection coming from “Bomb Iran” Bolton.

What America really needs is a multi-volume tell-all book about the Trump Administration ghostwritten under a pseudonym by the “deep state”—career staffers and non-political actors doing the day-to-day work of the administration. I’d want to see this sourced from 100s of people.

Can you think of any messenger they wouldn’t impugn on the right?

Remember when they were all about how Trump surrounded himself with the best generals and they would give him the best advice to make up for his inexperience and ignorance? Every last one of them is gone and every last one has called him out. The right has gone after all of them.

They just don’t care.

What ever happened to Anonymous?

Yeah, I just don't care about those concerns. As I've said previously, I'd rather a deeply conservative asshat criticize Trump in public than someone I liked. Because I assume someone I actually like will only be believed by liberals, who are all already against Trump. An example I gave is, what if Rush Limbaugh suddenly turned on Trump? That right there would do far more damage than anyone with more palatable views turning on him.

They're going to trash Bolton as they do everyone who criticizes Trump, but even in spite of that, Bolton is more likely to reach swing voters or pry some moderate conservatives, or hawkish types who may like Bolton, away from Trump than anyone whose ideas I approve of.

So far as your wish expressed in your second paragraph, that seems an unlikely scenario, and if it did happen, they'd jump all over it for being anonymous.

Does explain also why ribeye steaks at Costco are $13.99@#.
No, demand before any of the slaughter plants had to close was already high, and now it's a supply vs demand situation, thinjk what happened to gasoline, demand plummeted and so the price cratered. As most restaurants were closed I was buying a no roll tenderloin at work for $6.20/lb, these don't make their way into retail channels very much due to how expensive they usually are, price has recovered now back to $11-12 for no roll, $12-14 for choice.

Watching MTP daily. Everybody's got their copy now, and reading excerpts. Says Pompeo passed him a note at some meeting that said (about Trump) "He's so full of shit".

Speaking of which, ABC is apparently airing an interview with Bolton Sunday that they already taped.

A teaser excerpt was released, which has the interviewer asking Bolton, "Did the President lie?" To which Bolton replies "Yes, and it wasn't the first time."

I may watch that one.

Yeah that's going to be some good TV, scheduled it when I heard. This stuff is getting good, no wonder Trump is furious. Dipshit is laughed at on both sides of the ponds, and this subverting democracy again but with China. It's every voting Americans' duty to defeat these traitors in November.

"Bolton’s staff were asked to testify before the House to Trump’s abuses, and did. They had a lot to lose and showed real courage. When Bolton was asked, he refused, and said he’d sue if subpoenaed. Instead, he saved it for a book. Bolton may be an author, but he’s no patriot. " -Adam Schiff

Right on. I hope that is brought up a lot in the interview!

I can't find where I just read it but apparently the orange menace didn't know that U.K. was a nuclear
power and he thought Finland was, part of Russia/or under Russian control.

We have a a bunker-boy with the education of a 6th grader running the country.
FFS!

found this :

I think most 6th graders know the UK has nukes.

They use the same Fire Control System in their Vanguard submarine as the US Trident submarine. Out of his element does not even begin to describe how badly his performance has been. I have no doubt that our national security has been severely weakened, and will be yet another thing that will have to be fixed, and will take along time once he and his enablers are gone.

DOJ seeks emergency order from a judge to block publication (unlikely). Either way, this cat is outta the bag though, but I’m sure Barr will spare no effort to placate the President.

Presently #1 seller on Amazon...

Trump is spectacularly good at promoting books which say bad things about him. It's questionable if it's his core belief that all press is good press or a manifestation of the Streisand Effect. Maybe both.
Any anti Trump book will be a best seller, there is serious money in Trump hate.
To be clear, I don't have any issue with that at all. It couldn't be any worse than the trash I read.

Bolton: - "Had Democratic impeachment advocates not been so obsessed with their Ukraine blitzkrieg in 2019, had they taken the time to inquire more systematically about Trump’s behavior across his entire foreign policy, the impeachment outcome might well have been different,"

Huh?..So Bolton is claiming that he had information that would require removing the president from power, but that he declined to provide this information to the public because Democrats wouldn't subpoena him. Is that about right?

You coward!...Bolton deserves to be consigned to the ash-heap of history.

I'm glad he's spilling the beans, but he should be groveling and begging for forgiveness for not doing so sooner, not blaming other people for his inaction.

He's a bit confused about Venezuela too.

  • Former national security adviser John Bolton claims that President Donald Trump said it would be "cool" to invade Venezuela.
  • Trump made the statement because he believes the nation is "really part of the United States," Bolton writes in his upcoming book, "In The Room Where It Happened: A White House Memoir."

Remember back in January/February when Trump extolled Xi Jinping for his handling of Coronavirus, but then abruptly changed his tune the next month and threatened to take action against China for lying about the virus??

Yeah, about that....

Xi wouldn't give Trump the sweat off his balls, let alone any sort of political victory. The Chinese will just sit back & watch Trump drown in his own puke.

Another excerpt from the book courtesy of NYT. Evidently, Trump did not know that the UK had nuclear weapons, and he asked if Finland was part of Russia. Bear in mind, for Bolton to have been the witness here, Trump would have to have still been this ignorant after already having been POTUS for at least 2 years! 😵

Does anyone doubt Bolton's veracity on this?

Sadly, I do not.

For crissakes, it's even worse than that. Not only did Trump not know the UK had nuclear weapons, he told Theresa May and her National Security Advisor this.

On his way to the Helsinki meeting, Trump stopped to see then-British Prime Minister Theresa May in the UK. During that meeting, May's national security adviser, speaking about the Skripal poisoning, referred to the attack as one on a nuclear power. "Trump asked, 'oh, are you a nuclear power?'

What in the actual fuk is this thing doing talking to foreign leaders? Can't we just have someone else do it?

What's next? We're going to hear that when speaking with President Macron,Trump said: "Terrific country you have here. Love it. Only problem is people are talking really funny and I can't understand what they're saying. Don't you guys speak English here?"

The former national security adviser quotes U.S. officials who took part in Trump's meetings with their Chinese counterparts.

"According to our interpreter, Trump said that Xi should go ahead with building the camps, which he thought was exactly the right thing to do," Bolton writes. Another official said something similar, "which meant we could cross repression of the Uighurs off our list of possible reasons to sanction China, at least as long as trade negotiations continued."

Apparently Drump is also a big supporter of China putting people into concentration camps.

Despite all his revelations is there anything in there that is substantiated or is it all "I say he said."

From the Wall Street Journal:

All it takes is a few nice words and Trump will give away the farm. And the return of the "some people are saying" quote. Nobody is saying we need to abolish the term limit.

China comes in fully prepared to feed his ego and vanity. They know exactly what it takes to get him to support their positions. And this fucking idiot comes in unprepared and adlibs it all. Jesus christ, I don't know what to say.

A few nice words from a powerful person. That last part is key. He respects Xi, Putin, Duterte, Erdogan, etc. because they are unencumbered by the sham democratic institutions in their nations.

Probably fair to say any pro-Trump book wouldn't be a big seller.

The Venn diagram of Trump supporters and book readers would have a very small overlap.

Donald threatens anybody who isnt rich, white, and blindly following his agenda.
Mostly what it tells me is he's scared the information in the book will hurt him, because any other claims against his character and all he does is fuss and fume and insult and threaten.
