That's the thing, he's not burning anything down. He wanted to drain the policial swamp then filled it back up with his rich flunkies so it didn't burn anything down, he quickly put a tarp over everything and changed the paint job but it's still shit under there.

He's burning down the EPA & financial regulations. He's burning down civil rights & voting rights enforcement. He's burning down the State Dept. He's burning down our relationship with our allies.

They believed him about healthcare. They believed him about jobs. They believed him about law & order. They believed he'd use the govt to benefit them, the forgotten people. They believed he's stand up for their values, some of them being twisted, as you say. Trump doesn't care about any of it, of course, but he knows they do.

Yep, I’d agree. It seems to be largely a big show and not much more. The anger at a Washington is still there and would be foolish of any future presidential contender to ignore.

And even though the GOP ruthlessly obstructed everything Obama tried to do for 8 years they still somehow manage to blame Dems for their problems. And poor people. And immigrants. And anybody else who's powerless & not part of the privileged class whom they adore.

Ok I watched the interview, my take:

  • The interviewer was 100% out to get him, no question about that. It was less of an interview and more of an attempt at a gotcha hit piece. She wanted some sort of major thing said that everyone will reference back and she’ll get the glory of doing it. He rightfully called her out on it, if I were him I’d have walked out.
  • Trump is being Trump. He’s salesman first and foremost and his answers show that. It’s great, the best, was shit before me and I saved it, etc. Lots of bs.
  • His answers how he feels personally toward Kim and Putin seemed like a fair answer but she kept prying "aren’t they bad guys, say that, say that".
  • His answers about Sessions and Mueller further lead me to believe the investigation will be terminated.
  • I don’t like his answer about the Saudis
  • I reeeeeally don’t like his answer about global warming. "It’ll change but it might go back". Dangerous thought throughout the right. It fuels a disdain towards the scientific community which is a sad and dangerous thing. The number one issue facing humanity but we ignore it and say it’s bs.
  • It seemed highly edited, I’d love to hear the unedited interview.

Enjoy your dreams Jhhnn.

So lets elect a guy that burns it down even better.

Yep, that’s the reason he was elected. That’s the reason he was supported so avidly. It doesn’t matter what his position in this or that is, that’s not relevant to the support. What matters is whether he’s burning the place down, and like you said he appears to be doing that.

Not really. His voters thought he was different. They thought he actually gave a damn about the people in the lands that the Job Creators forgot. He captured their imaginations, fed on the shitty attitudes the GOP has cultured since Gingrich. Fed on their hopes & fears. They mostly just wanted to scream "Fuck you!" at the rest of us & the world. And like he said, he is their voice. They're still beguiled.

That's because they're snowflake projectionists. Decades of evidence to tell you exactly who Trump is and what he stands for, ignored, because emotional distress after the black guy got elected.

How's that infrastructure plan, or healthcare? Anyone with two brain cells to rub together would know who Trump is. His past is fraught with criminal behavior.

Give me one example of what you consider a "gotcha question"? Are we in the same ballpark as to why he won't testify in person in front of Mueller because of the so called "perjury trap". Only a pathological liar is worried of a "pergury trap".

Is that why questions are "gotcha", he lies all the time and is a despicable human being?

Stahl is one of the best in the business. That she doesn't let him gloss over with his usual bullshittery and non-answers is a pro not a con.

Most interviews Trump does are with friendly outlets who never press him on stuff like his "many people say" defense which is total made up nonsense.

Trump is a known liar, has been for decades, his supporters are 100% disingenuous in their concern.

Absolutely Donald. Russia did interfere with the election. But so did others. Like China. That follows from all the evidence you've shown of this. It also explains all the money you've spent as part of a commission to investigate and prevent foreign election interference.

It is frankly weird to think that an interviewer giving a strong interview is being ‘out to get’ someone. Have people on the right become so used to sycophantic journalism that they think NOT kissing the interviewee’s ass is a sign of bias against them?

Interviews are about getting the truth, not being friends.

It’s kind of amazing how seamlessly the right seems to be shifting from ‘there was no interference in the election’ to ‘everyone interfered in the election’ without noting any incompatibility between the two.

The right has truly become a totally post fact movement.

That interview will be gold to his base. That is who he was talking to. Quite frankly, he did everything he wanted to in that interview. He was on task and executed almost flawlessly.

But he is full blown nuts. 😀

Yes.

Now, for the rest of the class, can anyone tell me the subject of Trump's message to his base?
Is Trump racist against Europeans?

Or is it simply a narcissist who speaks of us "me" winning over all those other people. An economic message for stupid.

I'm surprised our resident Trump cheerleaders haven't spoken up here yet. I figure that they're either too busy jerking off to seeing Dear Leader on screen for so long, or are just waiting for Fox News to tell them what to think about it.

He's actually just started to broaden out who he gives interviews to reportedly because he doesn't think he's getting enough coverage. Hence the 60 Minutes interview and a number of other outlets getting time with him now.

I'd like to see Chris Wallace from Fox interview him. That would blow some people's minds.

yea I have to agree show us a gotcha trap or go home.

Lol out to get him, asking him to answer questions is out to get him?
