While I highly doubt it there are rumblings of Trump wanting to form his own party. I imagine he’s thinking of the branding and how many donation dollars he will be able to roll around in while stuffing his face.
It would be EPIC if at CPAC he announces his TRUMP MAGA Party.
Nope, it’ll be called the Patriot Party...like him stealing Reagan’s slogan, he will not care it was once a liberal paty’s name.

Saw the hearings this morning. Arrogant, and disrespectful is Dejoy's basic mannerism. You can tell he literally hates everyone who is not on his side. The Pubs as usual are on a completely different subject spending all their time about the Post Office being used to fix the election being a hoax. At one point, he said I'm here to stay and you have to deal with it.

yeah, sounds like that guy is going to get fucked hard. Can't wait.

I'm thinking there are a lot of Repub politicos that are fervently hoping that Trump, being the usual self-immolator that he is, will disqualify himself from running in some way or another before the '24 Repub Convention gets rolling.

How freaking odd it is that a lot of Democrats are in agreement with Trump's base that he gets re-nominated in '24 for completely different reasons.

Then they live in a fantasy land. The mental damage to the population has been done.

He can drop the governors though .. right? So they drop him or get dropped. Done.

Really?
There currently 6 people on the board of governors, 4 republicans, 2 democrats, all appointed in 2018 thru June 2020. There are 3 vacancies.

Sure looks like Trump loaded the board as he rolled out his plan to sabotage the USPS.

Damn man. Did not know that.
I still dont get it. Its like the democratic party dont realize they are at war. With guns. Bringing knives.

What could actually disqualify him at this point? Leading an insurrection evidently wasn't enough to get him kicked out of the party. I think he could literally burn crosses on the Mar A Lago golf green and still get a standing ovation.

Legally? The only legal thing that would stop him is being convicted during an impeachment. An ex-felon has every right to run. You would think that would be a fools' errand, but given the number of fools that worship this ass, that's not the case.

Conservatives keep beating the drum that the USPS should be run like a business, then turn around and not let it run like one, sabotaging it so that it can get turned over to private industry. We live in a bizarre country where a popular, large organization is hated and vilified by a political party because it shows a government agency isn’t necessarily doomed to failure or poor performance and that contradiction between their core beliefs and reality cannot be allowed to stand. Everyone mails stuff, even Republicans.

Putting aside the ideological aspect. We should be focusing on how we have government officials telling us that government agencies are doomed to failure while not acknowledging that they have any responsibility for those failures. We need to ask what kind of results we can expect from people who declare all politicians are incompetent and corrupt - while seeking a career in politics.

When in fact the USPS is a "service" that provides value, never designed to be a "profitable" business.
The FAA, which keeps flying safe is a "service", perhaps their business model should be a "for profit" model. The FDA which protects us from bad drugs, USDA food, etc.
Or how about the Air Force, or Navy?
How about the state DOT, make roads profitable or close them. Law enforcement, fire, rescue, EMS, all valuable and necessary "services" that are not required to be profitable.

All these services along with those other essential social services that provide support for the unfortunate souls among us are benefits that the Repub working class also benefit from and take for granted, yet their ideology castigates these services provided by their gov't and are shunned and looked down on as "socialism (dog whistled as communism).

Beats me how Repubs on the one hand can gladly, if not are in desperate need of these services yet scream very loudly at Trump rallies and among themselves how these social(ist) services are hated, denigrated and is anathema toward the contrived conservative dogma point that touts personal responsibility as one of their guiding principles.

How they live with themselves being so hypocritical is beyond me, yet it looks to be a feature of that discipline of theirs that they have no problem with.

Come to Texas, we are working on that. Right now nearly every freeway in Dallas has major construction going on and all of it is to be funded by turning normal lanes into toll lanes, and not just normal toll lanes but traffic dependent ones. The more traffic on the normal lanes the higher the toll goes on the toll lanes.

It is kind of funny how horny republicans are to re-nominate the guy who never won the popular vote, lost the house twice and then the senate and presidency, giving total power to their hated opposition, despite being an incumbent and flagrantly cheating.

I personally doubt he actually runs in 2024, but the amount of mileage he is getting out of lucking into the presidency on the back of James Comey.

Houston, free to the airport eventually on I45 or $10 on the toll road at 70 mph.

What are the odds Trump stays involved just enough to grift but also fuck things up for the party electorally? Seems pretty likely to me at this stage.

Yes, I can see him sticking around purely to keep grifting the rubes for as long as possible.

It's amazing to me how so many people donate so much money to him and do not seem to realize he is laughing at them behind closed doors and has nothing but contempt for them. As Howard Stern said, he would never let any of those dirty people inside his clubs, he would think they lower the property value.

On big question is how aggressively a Biden Justice Department will challenge voter suppression laws and Trump/GOP campaign skulduggery. The Administration is not without tools to challenge discriminatory voting practices. And even if those efforts end up being blunted by Trump judges, it will shine a spotlight on what they’re up to.

But if the Administration backs down out of fear of being seen as “partisan”, then they are doomed.

I hear that Trump has already declared victory in 2024 (unless, of course, the election is stolen).

Unfortunately for Biden it looks like SCOTUS is preparing to gut what remains of the Voting Rights Act so his ability to do this may become severely constrained in the near future.
