The question for Twitter is this: once his account is no longer protected due to "public interest" does it get banned immediately for all of the existing posts that violate standards or does the account get a free pass until the next egregious violation?

You mean, will his account go away immediately or last another, what, 24 hours?

Nah, Twitter have stated that once he leaves office he no longer gets protected status. That account is probably getting banned about 15 minutes after Biden's inauguration.

-Newsmax, ONN, whatever Trump's own news network is called then...

You need a link to back up that assertion. Biden has made statements to the contrary-

He won't stay in this Country for long, I figure, not with the SDNY & NYS trying to prosecute him. He could go from the White House to house arrest wearing an ankle monitor rather suddenly.

From Biden's Victory Speech
It’s time to put away the harsh rhetoric, lower the temperature, see each other again. Listen to each other again. And to make progress, we have to stop treating our opponents as our enemies. They are not our enemies. They are Americans. They’re Americans.
The Bible tells us to everything there is a season, a time to build, a time to reap and a time to sow. And a time to heal. This is the time to heal in America.

This is the 'Lets all just let bygones be bygones' talking point. He is saying he has no intention of holding the previous administration accountable because we all need to move on.
Mark my words. We are going to see a gradual ramping up of this talking point. In his inauguration speech he is going to talk more about healing the country, and specifically talk about how this is not a time to seek vengeance of justice but to undo the wrongs and move forward, or something very close to that.
Not that any of it will matter, in the next month there is going to be a tidal wave of pardons crashing over DC and everything Trump. The state of NY can go after Trump, but my bet is that once he is not longer the President the urgency will be gone from the NY prosecutors and Trump's legal team will then be able to tie that up in courts for the next couple of decades.

Sorry it took so long to get back to you. I kind of needed a break from all things political, so I took a week vacation and unplugged for a bit.

NO, Biden is not talking about the illegal actions of the current administration. He is talking about the hate and division all across America. And working with Congress (the law makers) going forward without treating each other as the enemy. NO where in that speech is he implying that he will not prosecute the previous administration for their illegal acts.

However, this article does support your position, but it also says that Biden will leave it up to an independent Justice department:

I think you're mistaken. I'm confident Trump's legal & financial problems will force him into exile. Any indictment will come with a gag order, which he can't abide, so he'll go somewhere he can talk all the shit he wants. Well, or all the shit his hosts will allow.

Replying to myself to post this:

President Donald Trump’s social media accounts could face even greater enforcement when he leaves office, Dorsey and Zuckerberg both said.

Facebook and Twitter have policies that permit elected officials and world leaders, respectively, to make claims on their platforms that would otherwise violate the companies’ policies. But once Trump leaves office, he would no longer be eligible for that special treatment.

“If an account is not a world leader anymore, that particular policy goes away,” Dorsey said.

“By and large, the vast majority of our policies have no newsworthiness or political exception,” Zuckerberg said. “If the president is spreading hate speech or promoting violence … those will receive the same treatment as anyone else saying those things, and that will continue to be the case.”

Trump's twitter gets no more protection the day he leaves office. So, 48 hours? Anyone taking bets on how long he has until he's perma-banned?

I thoroughly expect him to be live tweeting through the inauguration, so I give it about 20 minutes.

for those that think drumpf will be busy building for his '24 run, you may want to look at all the potential cases against him and his family.
abc summary of possible state charges:
donnie has been inquiring into preemptive self-pardons/pardons for his cronies and kids since his first year in office. the sad part is that not much can be done if/when he/pence does it.
the good news the pardons can only cover federal crimes. states can pursue him and NY will likely do so. also he wont be able to block any investigations into his taxes anymore.
between these investigations and his 600 million in loans coming due, campaigning is going to be tough. and as others have said, the secret service detail on him will be as good as having the us marshals living with him if he should try to flee the country.

I believe that when the time comes he is going to say that prosecuting a former President or his family would just feed the division and hate in America, that it would look like treating them as the enemy. That is almost exactly what he was talking about.

However, this article does support your position, but it also says that Biden will leave it up to an independent Justice department:

Unless he is willing to appoint a special counsel to investigate there is no way that the DOJ can make the decision to prosecute the previous President without it looking like it was politically motivated to Republicans.
I would be willing to bet that he instructs his AG to not go after Trump or his family unless they do something outrageous that can't be ignored.

Trump has already done outrageous things that can't be ignored. In Trump's place, I'd be out of the Country on inauguration day & would have informed the SS that their services will no longer be required as of 12:01 PM. There's nothing to stop him. He can claim he left because of political persecution & rave about it on Parler & RT.

I agree, and I think the intention is to ignore them. The work at getting America ready for it has already begun.
Joe Biden should consider pardoning Donald Trump
Biden should reconsider his promise not to pardon Trump
Opinion: Biden should start the healing by pardoning Trump
Why Biden should pardon Trump — and we Democrats should want him to

My biggest concern really is that you are at least partially right. Trump is going to flee the country and then declare himself the President in Exile running the Government in Exile. If he does that it is going to be really problematic. It will come down to how many people accept him, and how many of them are in positions of real power that can't be dismissed by Biden. Most importantly Trumps hand picked leaders in the Pentagon. Notice that Trump just did a purge of civilian leaders in the Pentagon.

At this point this idea is just theory crafting, I'm not suggesting he is actually planning it, I'm just pointing out how dangerous this situation is getting.

If this country is going to let Presidents be above the law, then this country is officially over and we might as well let Trump have another 4 years.

This bullshit started with Ford in '74, and it's carried on since.

I think Trump is going to fade away quickly in 2021 once he's out of the office. No one would care what he is blabbing about on Twitter right now if he was not POTUS. Once he isn't no one will care.
Oh he'll keep running that big "mouth of his if Twitter doesn't shut his account down. The GOP will recruit him for campaign events. He will be standing side by side with a candidate telling "lies" like before. Trump will fade away only if he is dead and six feet under the ground. Other than that - expect to hear from the clown chameleon for the next few years.

Trump will talk shit forever but I doubt he'll stay in this country to do it. He's still semi-delusional about losing the election. Once that sinks in, he'll have to deal with reality rather than being able to manipulate it. Pornstar payoffs. Obstruction. Tax fraud. Suborning perjury. On and on. I'm sure his lawyers will bring all that into focus for him over the coming weeks. He'll want to insulate himself from all that & the only way to do it is to be somewhere else.

Supposedly, the news now is.... Trump will boycott the inauguration and as it happens live, Donald Trump will be at Rudy's house kicking off the TRUMP 2024 candidacy. But again, Donald Trump fails to take into consideration a few things. One, what if after 4 years people actually LIKE Joe and Kamala ??? What then Donnie? Or.... what the "F" might Donald Trump physically look like after 4 years of chasing conspiracy theories, filling his gut with KFC, his orange hair turning to orange bald, and another 50 pounds added on?? Will people still like Trump? Will Melania stay with Trump? Or.... might Barron commit patricide on father Donald for screwing up his childhood? Barron sure looks like a kid that would commit patricide. Gee, and he was such a nice little kid. Frankly, I think its quite delusional that Donald Trump would think that time will stand still for 4 years as Donald Trump then picks up where he left off 4 years earlier. A lot can happen in 4 years and considering how bat-shit crazy his evangelist are and how bat-shit crazy his cult followers are and how bat-shit crazy that Shan Hannity has become, one can only imagine their state of mind after another 4 years from now. Yeah.... we all want to see THAT TRAIN WRECK run again come 2024.

There will be a tweet storm of him boasting about how much larger the crowd at his inauguration was.

Trump spend inauguration day out of the public spotlight? Not a chance in hell that will happen. My guess is he will have a big superspreader rally. Heck he may even shoot to have it bigger than Biden's inauguration crowd (I'm sure Biden is going to limit the crowd on the mall intentionally). He just has to find a place to have it that won't charge him upfront (because he will for sure stiff them).

Lindsay Graham says the Republicans in the Senate will not vote to confirm Biden’s Attorney General nominee unless he or she promises not to bring any charges against Individual 1.

Lindsey Graham Says Senate Republicans Will Refuse To Seat Joe Biden's AG Pick -- If Trump Will Face Criminal Investigation | HillReporter.com

Trump set the precedent of using “Acting” heads of agencies to get around that pesky need to have his choice confirmed. There’s an option. On the other hand if Trump keeps shooting the party’s own foot in Georgia the Senate may wind up in Democrat hands in which case Miss Ludicrous Lindsay won’t matter.
