I’m sure the Republicans have a Totally Awesome Secret Stimulus Plan for after the election, right next to the Amazing Bestest Secret Health Care Plan they’ve been working on for 9+ years.

He knows he’s losing, so why should he care about the economy or desperate need for stimulus (both for businesses and families?) Let the next guy fix it—Trump will never have to take credit for ruining it anyway because his worshippers will believe his Word that it was all Pelosi’s fault. So now his only priority is to ram his SCOTUS pick through, ideally before his election loss calls her legitimacy into question but anytime before inauguration will do.

But working with Nancy on a stimulus bill? “Don’t waste your time, Mitch”.

Nancy Pelosi and the House of Representatives do not need any Republican approval, they pass any plan they want.
It's the Senate causing trouble with "do nothing" Republicans obstructing any reasonable compromise.
In addition to that, alternative stimulus plans from the Senate were DOA with near zero Democrat Senators voting in favor of them.

Assistance to the people is being held up on bailouts for the States. An issue that no one will compromise on. So there is no need to negotiate - our two parties are at a total impasse and cannot be moved to act.
 
Politics as usual. Reject everything, and tell the American public that you won't be getting that stimulus check until AFTER THE ELECTION. Biden needs to counter that with a very delicious statement. Maybe Biden could say: "if I win hardworking Americans will get a $2k cheque every month for a 6 month period." Beat that you orange turd. 😉
 
He can even get the numbers right. The Dems dropped to $2.2trillion. The GOP went up to $1.6trillion. It’s the Trump admin unwilling to bend On spending any additional on state and local government stimulus.

Red states are going to be just as brutalized as the blue states if not more so in the next budget cycle. Whatever idiot has his ear on that issue is a fucking moron. Texas is going to be drowning in red ink. To the point Texas is thinking or expanding medicaid to get they sweet Obamacare money to plug holes. To bad for Texas Obamacare won’t be around when they sign the state budget into law next May.
 
No more job reports but you can still expect October to be awash with new lay-off notices in the media. Now that no stimulus is going to happen until Jan 20 at the earliest expect more dismal economic news to trickle out almost daily. Our current “recovery” is solely to government stimulus. Without continued stimulus the deck of cards collapses.

Now I see why Goldman Sachs et al see a blue tsunami coming. The Trump admin is out of touch with everything. Not even in the same universe at this point. If Biden and the Dems sweep expect to see an even bigger stimulate bill than their original $3.2trillion. Because come February we will need it.
 
Like I said in another topic. Tom Tillerson insists he's ready to return next week. Hope Lyndsay Graham lets him back in without 2 negative tests. Take out another group of GOP Senators.
 
If you're a Democratic Senate challenger in any state (toss-up or not) you need to switch all your messaging to "It's the economy, stupid!" and "geriatric GOP Senate would rather fight a culture war they lost 50+ years ago than help Americans struggling today". Bleed out your money on Digital, TV, radio, mailers that hammer this point home.

Trump was literally handed a gift-horse (Covid sympathy, stock uptick on his return to the White House + stimulus deal) and like all the wealth he is given, he squandered it. Fuck him. Fuck those deplorables who STILL support him. Fuck the Senators who gambled away their political fortunes on saving his ass on impeachment and sacrificing whatever principles they might have had to serve his agenda.

This looks like another “phenomenal,” “best stimulus ever,” “greatest of all time,” “more than any other stimulus,” rhetoric that he has delivered in these last four years. I guess the plan is great health care, awesome infrastructure and now a super stimulus, but after he is elected. Promised made, promises kept. Oh, wait, they don’t exist, but he says they do. His supporters will bend themselves into a pretzel to justify this. If he is elected, democracy is doomed. If can say this and win there is no way to stop the slide. Let’s hope his patient zero event derails the SCOTUS nomination.

Here’s the thing, to someone who hates democrats which is likely the vast majority of his voters and some fringe “undecided” voters this sounds awesome.
