Trucks

I am in a market for a used truck. I am biased towards toyota or nissan trucks. Someone told me that domestic trucks are much better and reliable. I am now confused.

F-150 would be my choice. But you really can't go wrong with any Ford/GMC/Chevy truck. They are all workhorses.

And you need to be a little more specific in what exactly you're wanting if you want any kind of help.

Midsize you want a Tacoma or Nissan or Ranger/Mazda if all you want is a toy.
Toyota T100's are good, problem is resale, in the used market they have a premium.
So, you can get a better full size truck that's newer and easily as reliable with way less miles for the same money and have a ton of choice because they sell so well.

But if you have that bias you probably will never be happy w one and you'll forgive your Tacoma for rusting apart but not the Chev for a bad alternator. . .

T100? Serious?

He said used, just what pops into my mind for mdsize comparable to today's Tacoma in size. Still a good truck, but no real help from this guy on priorities

To be more specific. Just a small truck for a 18yo kid. I want a reliable one like my nissan that has 183000 miles in it.

I'd steer away from Toyota unless they have fixed their rust issues with the Tacoma/Tundra. The Chevy Colorodo with the i5 seems like a fun truck to have.

I have yet to hear of any rust issues with 05+ Tacomas or Tundras. If you know differently, link please? My 98 rusted bad, but my 05 has been great.

the colorado/canyon seem to be pretty well built and are well priced. I like the frontiers and hate tacomas. i would never touch a titan/tundra. I have a 1/2 ton GMC and love it. I get about 15 in town and around 19 or 20 on the highway.
