state of CA should tow the trucks away and keep them. anyone that leaves their truck out there like that forfeits ownership if you ask me.

I wouldn't mind $3/gal gas... maybe it would make all those people who drive SUVs and trucks for absolutely no good reason reconsider. I'm not anti-SUV or truck, but if it's just you in the car and you never pull anything, get some common sense. Of course, I also average 35mpg on a bad day and I actually try to use public transportation, putting me in the severe minority.

Yep, you say that now. Until you go to the grocery store and the price of food has tripled, then you'll be whining about the price of food and wishing gas was back to 1.30 a gallon.

I doubt the price of food would triple... I'd pay $3 instead of $2.50, or $11 for a $10 item. It's the only way people will come up with something better and cut through the oil industry's lobbying and BS that prevents implementation of real alternative fuels.

people always talk about shortages like it's the only thing that influences prices. it's only half the equation, people. demand for gas in this country means they can charge whatever they think they can get away with (probably the only thing they're worried about is people blowing up their stations). they own the gas, and you can't live your lives without it, so they own you. don't surprised when they ask for more money for the liquid they've got you hooked on. there's a couple different companies, so competetion means prices don't get too insane, but if all the companies just start inching up, there's no reason for them to come back down again.

i doubt you or anyone you know has decreased your gas consumption (i haven't, either). and it would probably take prices of $5 a gallon before you would.

In a way they're holding everybody hostage and forcing everybody else in to their little effort. I also would like to see burned to death those who picked in front of employer's and keep out temp workers.

WTF is wrong with protesting? Somebody has to do it or NOTHING will get done. I agree that gas prices are ridiculous and the only reason why we are getting shafted is because our government needs to get some balls and say enough is enough.

Protest all you like. Just don't get in my damn way. If I was on the way to work and some sh*t head decided to block 10,000 cars on the I-65 to make his stupid point I'd clap if somebody dragged him out of his truck and beat the crap out of him. It's grossly inconsiderate and costs thousands of dollars with all those lost hours from this bastard blocking people who have no interest in being his pawns.

They deserve to have MAJOR fines levied on them, and possibly their trucks permanently seized, and jail-time, as mentioned above. I wouldn't be surprised if they cost some emergency services access to somewhere they wanted to go, and other than the fact it's a pain in the ass to thousands of people these truckers are costing so damn much with the stunt.

I say draw and quarter them, and hang their body parts from an overpass.

I agree.

I'm all for people speaking out. But to block traffic and cost people pay/livlihood is just wrong.
I hope the state seized the trucks and the licenses of the truckers.

Crap like this needs to stop. I'm surprised people didn't do something to the truckers. with road rage as bad as it is now.

Hmm, these truckers must have the intellect their mullets suggest....I'm sure blocking "The 5" is going to scare the crap out of OPEC.

Shhhh, don't tell them that. They think it'll help ;) I guess that's why they're truckers... This is pretty funny, though. Of course, if I was stuck in one of the traffic jam's they've created I'd be homicidal by now.

Simple. No lives were lost. No harm was caused. Inconvienience maybe, but no harm.

Using that logic, anyone who threatens to punch someone in the face should get the same punitive action as someone who knifes another 40 times.

Note: The truckers want more pay for their work. Not the price of diesel to go down.

If they are charging more for no other reason then they can, then that is gauging and is against the law. Yes a shortage CAN increase price. But the shortage has to come first then demand will make price go up, not the other way around (Like it is now).
Also has anyone noticed the profit and money made by oil companies has gone up, not down. So again if there was a shortage then they would make less money as there would be less product.
Sorry but I am not buying the whole ?Its because we don?t have enough refineries?? BS. If there were not enough product then stations would have signs saying they have no gas, I don?t see that. All I see is gas prices going up and oil companies making more money.
I might not agree with HOW they are protesting, but I am glad someone will at least do something and MAYBE Bush will have to tell his friends to lower the price more. Of course it is a re-election year so I am sure the price will ?DROP? right before the election.
