I am sorry you had a bad experience JohnBear but the bottom line is that there are maybe 20 complaints on these boards compared to the thousands of orders that New Egg receives a week. I work in the customer service field and if you can achieve a 98% (based on 1000 orders and I am sure this number is way higher) customer satisfaction then you are doing beyond fantastic. In reality anything over 90% by today?s standards is outstanding. So while I am sorry that you had a bad experience with New Egg I really don?t think its fair of you to bash them and try to deter others from purchasing from them when you are in the overwhelming minority of their customers who are unsatisfied with their service. I have purchased well over 10 thousand dollars worth of merchandise from New Egg alone and have never had an issue with them. And just for the record some of my purchases have been as recent as last week. Word of mouth is a very powerful weapon and should be used very wisely. Not to raise a personal vendetta against a company but rather relay the views of the vast majority or even a great minority of a companies customers.
Once again I have to ask if you even bothered to read this entire thread, or the threads of others having newegg issues?
You have either failed to read the thread, or failed to understand, or simply ignored key points.
I have asserted again and again that I am not interested in 'bashing' newegg as you put it, nor am I interested in detering business from them.
If you had read all of the posts, and all of my responses you would see that I have responded to have concern you have in your post. This forum issues forum is about our forum issues not my persol problem, or your dedication to a company. Outside of that I have a constitutional right to share my opinions and my voice and I will not quiet myself because you or anyone else has a misguided sense of loyalty to a for profit business. This is what word of mouth is for, here and places like resellerratings. This is how we protect ourselves. I will never, ever have any sympathy for someone wanting to silence anothers voice. Disagreement is fine but to urge silence as one of your main points is simply irresponsible. Again if you would actually like to disagree or discuss anything about this that doesnt have to do with quieting our voices then by all means that is your right. However if you cannot take the time read the thread in full then you are not contributing anything at all. If you did indeed read your points have already been addressed and a counter argument is in order. Your post was almost a cookie cutter argument that contains all of the points that I have already rebutted.
And just to make this clear in case anyone has forgotten once AGAIN. This post was never meant to SOLVE, FIX, or WHINE, about my particular problem. This is why I left out details of MY problem. I will once again say what I have said before:
Newegg is popular among this community
Problems are being had among members with newegg
these problems SEEM more than usual
Therefore I feel that a community awareness is necessary to protect members of the community.
I Dont have anything against newegg, but I dont CARE about newegg. They are a business I wish them no ill, but I am not going to coddle them as many do.
You don't have any data that provides support for the idea that these are normal circumstances. You have no data to show anything, just subjective experience.
I don't have data either, other than the fact of many unresolved complaints from many members here. If you want that information go find it I am not going to coddle fanboys any longer.
