Trouble sleeping

Lately I've been mad tired during the day, I could fall asleep standing up. I have no energy to get things done. Then when it comes time to actually go to sleep, I can't fall asleep for the life of me and end up just laying there or tossing and turning until the wee hours of the morning, only to start the cycle all over again. Why? Does anyone else have this problem?

Welcome to my life. I don't know why. I always assumed it was because my mind is always going a million miles an hour.

tylenol pm.

and yes, it's called having too much on your mind and thinking it's best to complete those tasks at night. your mind and body connection are not there. you need to relax, take a warm bath, read something boring, or you can do the tylenol pm thingy.

Hell yes!
My problem is that I seem to have forgotten how to sleep.
Sometimes I get lucky.

Diet / exercise ( or lack there of ) / caffeine intake, ... to name a few common areas that may cause sleep disruption. Sleep apnea ( not breathing well or interrupted breathing ) during the time that you do sleep.

I had the exact problem. It was horrible. My temporary solution was Nyquil. The NIGHT i drank that stuff, i had a good 6 hours sleep if i remember. That felt like heaven.

Try not to get anxious about sleeping. Just go to bed and close your eyes and DO NOT think about falling asleep and do not try to think about nothing. Just relax your mind and think about something peaceful, like a landscape. I fall asleep within 30 minutes now!

BTW, if u can't fall asleep within 30 minutes, chances are, u won't be falling asleep for the next two hours if u stay in bed. So get up for a few minutes, go to the bathroom, maybe. Then go back to bed and you can try again.

I didn't know the 30 minutes rule, but its good information. Thanks!

I'm with some you guys, I just can't stop thinking of random crap at night and it keeps me awake for a good hour sometimes. Some nights are better then others but an average night consists of me tossing and turning while I struggle to shut my mind off. And it sucks because most of my friends could fall asleep on the roof of a car if they wanted. Wish it was dfferent for me but I've pretty much accepted it and tried to plan for it in certain situations where I absolutely need 8 hours of sleep.

I lay down and start fantasizing about women, and then I'm out like a light.

Just dont think about the giant spider that lives under your bed, who waits for your breathing to get heavy so she can come out and crawl on you.

I heard it takes 21 days for something to become habit. Do whatever you can do to go to sleep at the same time every night for 21 days. I should try this myself as I have the same problem. I need to stop taking naps on those days that I get home from work and am dead tired. That keeps me up even longer at night.

And sometimes, you have to kill two kittens.
