TRON LEGACY

not sure why it would be a nerds wet dream. tron is like hackers the film when it comes to tech. laughable and obviously written by people who know sh*t about tech. perhaps its nostolgia, i watched it when it came out on dvd and i felt embarrassed for everyone involved.

It's an awesome movie that was a great concept when it came out. I was too young to watch it when it came out but it still holds up well today. Sucks that you didn't like it but others like me will enjoy it.

This guy begs to differ. It was ahead of its time when it first came out. Of course a lot of my friends reacted with "WTF is this crap!" too. The women especially couldn't understand what they were watching.

lol @ tron guy

he sold his plane recently😛

it was perhaps semi cutting edge in terms of cg in film. but the story is laughable and painful to watch. i know back then people were happy to see anything that was computer animated.

Never saw the original. Is it worth it?

Yes, but I am old enough to have seen it when it first came out, so my opinion is undoubtedly clouded by nostalgia.

Yeah, it was kinda cool when it first came out, whereas now it would seem horribly cheesy.

This video was shown at last year's Comicon wasn't it? Except it was called "Tr2n". The only difference is this year's video isn't some bad handy cam recording.. 🙂

The original movie is definitely campy - but it was way ahead of it's time when released. It's definitely worth a watch to get an idea of what Tr2n...er Tron Legacy will be about and why fans went nutzo when they saw Flynn in the bad handy cam version released last year [check youtube].

Looks horribly stupid and unoriginal. I'd even go as far as saying that the original Tron had better special effects. The special effects of decades past were at least original and creative, whereas the computer effects of today look cliched and amateurish. They keep using the same repetitive, unrealistic effects such as the "camera shake" effect that seems to be in every movie and commercial nowadays. It's like when you give a 12 year old Photoshop and all their pictures have lens flares all over the place.

not sure what you're smokin', but this legacy trailer looks great. gf felt the same.

The only thing that I see this movie has going for it is that it has Olivia Wild in it. Yumm.... I'd watch anything with her in it, or on it, or under it, or......

Shit she's in Year One. Scratch that I'll watch "nearly" anything.

Yup. Looks like a nice update on the Tron-ish graphic style.

If I'm reading this right...Flynn is now the bad guy?

The original Tron was a "look what we can do" movie and this one is a "look at how well we can do it" movie.
I like that they are bringing back many of the same actors who were in the original.

The guy who bites it on the Light Cycle maybe looked Indian.

So, maybe Flynn, after beating up the MCP and his DEC pdp-11 has now turned his sights on Asian Outsourcing 🙂
