Trip to Philippines

July and August are the wettest months of the year there. You need to plan on going in January - April.

Oh and make sure you make it to Boracay.

i went last nov and stayed until early january
no visa, no vaccinations

their immigration is cake, you show your return ticket and they don't worry about it

if you're not filipino, talk to someone near you in line so they can help you with the immigration officer (in case they really want to stick you with the 21 day visa)
you'll be in line for a good 20 minutes waiting to go through immigration anyways, might as well talk to some locals

chances are you can slip em a fiver for the longer visa, you can pay off all officials in the philippines 😉

as for airfare, philippine airlines (PAL) is usually the cheapest and shortest flights, but i think they only fly from LA
i've gone there on Northwest, PAL, Korean Air and Japan Air
PAL is fastest and friendliest

i wouldn't worry too much about vaccines unless you're actually staying in the provinces near the jungles.

also, don't drink the water.

So you showed them your return ticket for january and they gave you like a 60 day visa?

It takes almost 65 days to get your passport. Do it NOW. Also, start looking for fares now, as the longer you wait, the more you have to pay.

gl, hf. I haven't been to the P.I. in over 25 years, but it was a blast when I was there.

I got mine in 12 days without paying for the rush.

why do you keep asking questions that have already been answered?

The only reason is because I'm getting conflicting answers.

No I do not speak Tagalog, but the person I'm going with does.

I already have my passport.

don't worry about it. they gave me the 60 day visa without even asking why i was there for 5 weeks

even if they don't, whats the worst that can happen?
its not like they wouldn't let you leave 🙂

They could always turn me around and make me return to the US.

Any places I should be going in Luzon in particular? Where do I go shopping? How much should I bring (I'm staying with Family)?

Update: I found out that the immigration officials at the airport will give you however long you need (up to a point). So as long as I tell themt hat I'm staying for a month they should give me at least a month or around 60 days. So I'm good on that end.

aren't u fillipino?

Yeah. What about it?

u don't have filipino relatives or friends u can ask?

I am asking them about it as well. And they even give me conflicting reports.

This is stupid.
Do you own research about your OWN country. Are you retarded?

Its like me, being from Poland, asking questions on these forums about Poland...
I can not imagine getting any kind of useful info out of a situation like that.

I am planning a trip to the Philippines from mid July to mid August of this year. I was wondering if any of you knew about visa requirements (since I'm staying for a month), vaccination requirements (I've been there before and had to get vaccinated), cheapest airfare, and other random stuff. I've done the research as well but I keep getting conflicting reports. I heard Hawaiian Air is the cheapest as I will be going from Sacramento to Manila. Any help would be appreciated.

Update: What are your experiences in using either Philippine Airline or Hawaiian Airline?

fly down to lax via jet blue, southwest, cheapo air. then fly to the islands. way cheaper.

I already figured everything out. I just need to figure out which airline is better.
