Tree fell on the lot next to me... powerlines laying in my front yard

Wires are just holding this tree up, and it is threatening to pull down the other poles around it. They need to hurry or it will be a mess.

grab your most valuable stuff, hide it somewhere, then start a fire and sue! Opportunities like this don't come around too often!

j/k

Might lose power soon. Now there is wind blowing, and the power company is nowhere to be found. I actually have some pics because I bought some batteries a week ago for my camera. If I can get them ULed in time...

BTW, I know the pics are sh!tty, but I didn't have time to put the Camera on best setting, and I have a crappy camera at any rate.

Oh, and yes I have power, but my lines are laying in my yard with my telephone line(I have DSL). At any time I might lose it...

Hope things get resolved soon! Did they say how long they are going to be? I imagine they need to round up something to remove that tree safely.

It's a little hard for me to really tell from the pictures, but if your overhead electrical service drop is on the ground and you still have power -- that's a dangerous situation. It'd be best if you would make sure that everyone stays well away from those lines until power company arrives.

You are correct. I told the power company the entire situation, and stressed it was dangerous because it is about to pull more lines down.

I remember a B-movie about downed power lines. All the worms in the ground started reproducing like MAD and they were hungry for blood. Billions upon billions of worms attacked this small town in the midwest. Really corny, but wasn't bad for a free movie on a late friday night. 🙂

Wow that looks really dangerous, the powerline pole looks like it can fall any second...

I'm glad all the powerlines in my area are underground...
