Slowly but surely the lines are sagging farther, and the temp pole is slow bending to where it is about to fall. I'd say in the next 30 minutes it is all going to fall, especially since the wind is picking up. I'm on the phone with the Power company yet again, but I'm on hold.

Jesus... apparently they are NEVER going to send someone. Evidently all my calls were marked as non-urgent.

Edit: Ok, given a 20-30 minute ETA. Hope it doesn't fall before then!

It looks like you're on a dead-end culdesac, so maybe no one's likely to be walking though the area. I'd still be a bit worried that some kids outside playing might be attracted to the downed wires. Keeping people clear would be your good deed for (at least) the day.

I've warned the neighbors at home, and I'm waiting on more to come home to warn them as well. I'm looking out the door every few minutes. I don't want anything to happen either. I'm just praying the linemen get here before it falls.

So are you dead yet?

I would actually call the fire department, since this could forseeably cause a fire. At the very least they can give you some advice/reassurances, or maybe call the electric company and get their asses in gear.

Yeah, anyone show up yet Mill? Calling the fire deptartment (non emergency # of course) sounds like a good idea. Explain to them what's going on and that it's imperative someone get out here faster than they are currently since it could fall and make a bad situation much much worse. Maybe telling them there are kids in the area will get them moving.

Yep, I did lose power, but only because a guy finally came out here and turned off my circuit. It was another 30-45 minutes before a bucket truck got here. The guy told me he didn't get called until 6:19PM, so I'm certainly going to complain about that. They woke the poor guy up, but you'd think they could have grabbed someone else. Regardless... I just got the power back on and everything repaired. Phone line is only temporarily fixed, so I have to call the phone company tomorrow and get them to come out. Thank God it didn't fall until they got here.

I was gonna say "Quick! go spray water on it", but if he already turned the power off, then don't worry about it;).

Should have called and told them some little kid just got blown away by the power line. That would have hurried up. But call as an anonymous caller. :p

Holy sh*t, that's one tall tree awfully close to the house...glad to hear that everything turned out well though.

Not to get off topic but that's a damn nice looking area you live in.

I like it.
