Man, its one of my all time favourites... The game just does NOT get old! Its been what, 10 years? Youre damn right its too addicting... The idea of going through time and replacing trains with better ones etc, just awesome.. I only wish the game would not end, its such a shame when you stop getting better stuff.. they should make a new one from like, 1500-2500 😀😀

It's all about the trains though, even in TT/TTD.

I hear Locomotion is much better, but I want to try it out before buying it.

Locomotion better? Eyecandywise yes, but I'm still playing TTD 🙂

OpenTTD requires some getting used to, but it has some enhanced controls, like waypoints.

Man...I've been hooked on this game. Been playing it every singly bit of free time that I get since Thursday, which is pretty much all day.

So hooked, that I tried to click the + to get a better view of your trains and all.

Anyways, signaling is a PITA.

If you like business simulators, you really should try the free demo of Capitalism 2, I bought the game and I still mainly just play the content in the demo, you just get one scenario and no custom start, but there is no time limit and you can play that one scenario as long as you want even after you beat it.

Capitalism 2 is easily the best business simulator that I have ever played (once you get past the poor resolution it runs at):

I thought Chris Sawyer was a genius like Sid Meier when he created TTD. Then he created RollerCoaster Tycoon (RCT), and I thought he has to be Hall-of-Famer for PC games. Then he released RCT2 and I was like "WTH" coz it's basically the same game as RTC. And then almost 10 yrs after TTD he released a sequel Locomotion. I was very excited but when I looked at screenshots I was like "WTF". Reviews says it's even a step back from original TTD. So this guy followed two Hall-of-Fame releases with two Hall-of-Shame releases. go figure.

Anway, funny I also just downloaded the open source TTD over the weekend after I tried Sid Meier's Railroads! and wasn't satisfied. I wish someone could take the source code and create a decent DX9 version of TTD and I'll be gladly pay $30 for it.

Thanks to the openTTD and new grf development I'm now hooked to this game as I was 10 yrs ago. I'm playing with the Japan set now with new Japanese buildings and trains like bullet trains, also new realistic land vehicles, ships, airplanes, etc.

Also just found out that openTTD has a beta 32bit graphic version and I just installed it. It works fine with all my existing new grf, the graphics looks much sharper when zoomed out, sort of like Sim City 3, texts seem to look sharper, and it also added 2 more level of zoom in, though without new 32bit graphic packs (very few atm) it'll look grainy when zoom in so close. Anyway when ppl created enough new 32bit graphics it'll transform the look of the game. btw here's a linky to a thread that contain the 32bit openTTD d/l link. Check out the forum also as you can find a lot of cool stuff to enhance your game.
