And not for nothing, but the trailer looks so generic. They could have just called it when Robots attack instead of the Transformers and it wouldn't have made a difference.

Something tells me that true fans are going to be calling for the tarring and feathering of Bay and Spielberg once this gets released.

Hold your horses Pilgrim. I am also mad about the look of some of the Transformers as I'm a G1 fan............ BUT.............. The voice that was Optimus Prime in the cartoon series from the 80's, is the same voice for Optimus in the new movie. Peter Cullen!
Crank it up a NOTCH! BAM!
 
I'm torn. The special effects look cool, but somehow I can't shake off the feeling that plot is gonna suck major ass. That scene with cars heading down the road and some other stuff from 1:10 to 1:20 looks really really lame...
 
anyone remember that one Transformer's episode where Cobra commander appeared, but he was older? It was weird.

If VW doesn't give authorization for the use of their image, then there wasn't anything the film-maker could do. Point blame that way, not at the movie.
