The RWD drivetrain will come from Fuji Heavy Industries - AKA Subaru

All that for a reported $12,300 US

That's way too cool looking and cheap to be true, especially for Toyota. Looks like an updated Celica. I would think this would eat tC sales from Scion.
 
Any idea on when its coming out? No word on the page, and no link. Darn. I'm about to buy a car soon, and if it's $12300 indeed, that's right in my range. 🙁

I'd trade my car in for this ina heartbeat if it was under $13000.. but like you said, there is no way they will price it that low. 🙁

Well like with the Scions and the Yaris, $12300 is the MSRP, what you will actually pay at the dealer ship is more like $16,000 or more.

We went looking at Yarii because my mom just wanted a cheap car and they kept saying, oh Yaris is cheap and less than $14k. Well that's true IF you get the stripped down version, which my mom wanted, she doesn't care about power windows or locks. Well guess what, the only version that anyone carries is the fully loaded version and that's $4,000 more.

I love the AE86. I destroyed mine in a road-racing incident back when I was 16. I've been looking for a modern replacement for years.

I bought an MX-3 because it kind of looks like one.

...I have a love affair with that toyota... But 12k? God I wish.
 

heh, if this happens, might as well give kids rope to hang themselves with. cheap rope at that.

I love the AE86! that's what I wanted when I was like 16 - strip it out, racing seats, rollcage, transplant the 4AGZE supercharged unit and tune it up to 200bhp. fuck yea.

This thing is too yupie and 'modern' looking and... well... girly... I want a raw sports car.

I sat in a white Exige S at the London Motor Show last year - felt like a cockpit, but with your arse almost touching the ground, and it fit me surprisingly well considering I'm 6'2" and the roof only comes up to my waist.

Hehe.. That was the last stupid thing I've done with a car, since.

BTW, by "road-racing" I mean it was a controlled racing environment, not street-racing. 🙂
