You have to be the luckiest person in the world in the past 2 weeks.

Were you on meth tapping F5 every second on the sites you ordered from? Because everywhere has been sold out for the past month.

Well, my job allows me to surf the internet a LOT. Like several hours a day. Every day. Seven days a week. So I'm like a pro shopper. I spend all day researching and buying stuff.

Got the LPKs from PSA x2 and from Third Coast Armory x2. Both places were selling for $120 each kit.

Got the stock mounting kit and the upper receivers from Bravo Company.

Got the Magpul stuff from Primary Arms.

Most of this stuff sells out fast, so you do have to stay vigilant. But it does trickle out there.

There's talk that Obama put the ban in the broader proposal as a bargaining chip & he'll let it go for a bill without it passing. If that happens, the bottom will probably fall out of the AR market and there'll be tons of excess supply. How much are the lowers going for?

Before all the ban crap started a lower could be had easily for $80 and $50 if you caught a good sale.

I really don't see any logical reason to own one and I seriously question whether many people should own them but I already own 1 assault rifle and am storing another for a friend of mine (she'll probably never ask for it back) so having another one isn't going to change anything.

I enjoyed building up my Ruger 10/22 and I enjoy shooting it with my son and I can get this lower for a great price so I figured why the hell not?

Not even sure I can get it yet so all this may be a moot point anyway and if I have to spend thousands just to get the parts I'm also not interested.

If you can afford an assault rifle then the small premium right now shouldn't be to hard to swallow with your pocket boot. I haven't seen an assault rifle for less than $15k for a long time.

I used to be angry that I missed all the Fry's deals since the closest one is 5 hours away....not so much anymore as I work 5 minutes from Palmetto State Armory. The stripped lowers are still $100 in store here, when you can catch them in stock - and they do trickle in.

In that case, no, you really shouldn't buy anything AR15 related. I also suggest you sell what you have to make a buck.

You don't own any assault rifles, you're in California.

Hey guys we are going to lead the nation in green tech, save the trees, think of the children, and buy more hybrids.

Years later, oh crap we don't get as much tax revenue from gasoline due to too many hybrid owners, lets start taxing them based on mileage. Lol liberals.

You're in CA? Not sure if there's a Turners nearby but they are the only "big" gun store around these parts. As such, they have lots of orders out and have been getting stripped lowers in.

The latest batch went for $160 each and I think that's too much. In this market though I'd say under $200 is where I'd draw the line.

Then it's the dilemma of finding a lower parts kit. $120 is too much.

I have Norinco MAC 90. I had to register it back in the 90s as an assault rifle so the state of CA obviously thinks I own one.

There are a few pretty big gun shows here a couple times a year and they always have tons of AR parts.

I thought you just said you don't see any reason to own one?

Well, they are fun to shoot targets with.

I'm not going to sit here and pound my chest talking about rights and overthrowing a tyrannical government if that's what your getting at though. :p I know people like this... and I think they're nuts.

What our great state "thinks" and what is reality are often very different.

Is your MAC90 full automatic or burst fire capable? No? Not an assault rifle.

One of my coworkers talks about his MAC 90 that he can't use. Surprised that you registered yours.

Folks on Calguns forums have been posting pics of recent guns show lines and telling stories of waiting hours to get in, hours waiting in the ammo line, and then no ammo when they get their turn.

Need to wait until this blows over...

Semantics. Call it whatever you want... I don't care.

Didn't want to be in violation of the law. I've shot it a number of times but it has been a few years... like more than 10. A friend of mine has a membership at an outdoor shooting range here in North County San Diego where you can shoot 100 yard targets.

That's a big target that even a liberal can't miss.

Depends on the size of the target I guess. They may have 200 yard... can't remember. We were shooting my 10/22 last time with my son so about 50 yards was the max, it was pretty windy that day too. I had just built it up so my goal was to just get on the paper that day.

No thousand yard ranges here I'm afraid.

I'm surprised you couldn't get out further than that with a 10/22, Last time I went to the range my friend managed to get a nice grouping at 150 yards with my M&P 15-22 before I had even had a chance to zero the new scope in and he wasn't shooting off of a bench.

To be fair I couldn't match that but it was my first time shooting with a scoped rifle and at any sort of range.

So you people wants to ban guns and see no logical reason to "need" an assault rifle, but yet you already have one and because they're fun to shoot with?

Oh I see, you must be a lot smarter and more responsible than everyone else to be entrusted with an evil assault rifle. Because you "need" it.

Everyone else is too dumb, ignorant, and irresponsible to have or need an assault rifle right?

Libtard n. Portmanteu of "liberal" and "retard". Someone who, intoxicated by being knowlegable and right about politics and economics, forgets that they need to get actual real ordinary people to support them if their agenda is to be advanced. Often but not always rich, well meaning and with good insight to society's problems, but naive about the mechanics of politics and utterly ignorant about how power actually works.
