They said its going to roll out in less than 10 days...im eagerly awaiting to see if they can pull this off. Im still waiting for an update for my Veer.

Hopefully Anandtech will do a full review of the Touchpad after the software update. My Pre Plus has had 2 updates through verizon, then I installed 2.1. Each update provided a nice performance boost to my phone, especially 2.1.

I had a Sprint Pre since the first launch, there was plenty of updates delivered. Just lately they have been slacking.

wow... wondering what all the people who purchased the touchpad is thinking.... is it a new CPU? or is it just an overclock to 1.5GHz?

I was under the impression the qualcomm chip used is indeed a 1.5ghz chip, and everyone using it has underclocked it to 1.2ghz. Maybe they just ran it at stock speeds?

Thats exactly what im thinking...they should just do the update for the original touchpad to 1.5ghz for the standard clock.

do that, beef up the software so it feels as smooth as iOS and WP7... then people will start turning their heads... they should've started off with a higher res panel... They need to trump the competition.... more so in specs than in UI/OS.

wow... just messed with a touchpad FINALLY. And boy, it's not bad at all! The only "slowness" i've found was pinch and zooming. Scrolling wasn't bad at all, moving through apps was fairly smooth! Wow... you'll never know until you tried it! I'd say, it's *almost* there! There were some hiccups during picture swiping...

That's why I don't rely solely on reviews to determine if will purchase a device. I just hope people that were on the fence about buying a touchpad didn't get discouraged after reading certain reviews and decide not to get one. The more touchpads that are out in the wild, the more developers will want to port their apps to WebOS.

It was pitiful how quick people on this forum proclaimed "WebOS is dead" after a mediocre review.

i was totally shocked by this... It definitely was faster and smoother than I anticipated! pretty close to wp7 & iOS! still needs to work on browser navigation speed, pinching and zooming, and picture browsing!

well, hp delivered on the new patch. Things are great, the is a difference. Looks like they speed up a lot of the animations. Things feel a bit snappier.

I'm still on the fence due to price. I have an Asus Transformer that I'm willing to sell because I find Android to be pretty meh. But, it was also $100 cheaper than the Touchpad which led to my decision in the first place. I love WebOS, so I'm guessing if it goes on sale <$400 I'll probably end up pulling the trigger on it.

also, the limited apps on WebOS isn't very appealing as well... I wonder if they have a chinese keyboard as well?
