There was a warhammer mod for rome total war a while back, not sure how it's doing nowadays but I didn't think it was anything special back then. The actual tabletop games have always been more fun for me than any video game recreation of the universe.

That becomes a problem when you have zero other nerdy friends who might enjoy something like the tabletop games. Hard to find people who enjoy tabletop or would play it on a regular basis.

Any decent sized town (80,000+) I've been to has a warhammer community.

I would, and I bet plenty of others would. It wouldn't even have to be Warhammer. I would just love to see a fantasy version of Total War.

I lived in a Suburban town for senior citizens most of my life :) There was no D&D community to be seen :D

Well, Warhammer isn't even close to the same as D&D... though a lot of times where you find one there is the other. But I'd say Warhammer is more prevelant than D&D in a way because it is slightly less "geeky".

It'd be interesting, but Creative Assembly has already addressed the issue and said that they're not going to do a LotR or Warhammer TW, one, because they can't, and two, because it doesn't jibe with what they want to do. I think it will be a while yet before we see a Fantasy TW. I'm sure CA could pull it off though, I'd be interested.

Warhammer is nowhere near D&D is an understatement. I am an avid pen and paper RPG player and I dislike D&D. Warhammer is a lot more fun, for me at least, because I am also an avid model builder. It incorporates so much into playing, it just is great.

I, personally, would love to see a really good WH40k PC game. Total War might be able to pull it off. It remains to be seen if they will try though. I am sure if a team got together and made a mod for the E:TW that was expansive enough, a great fantasy RTS could be built.
