ppl need to understand, no matter how much DRM crap they load onto a song, it will still be copied, they can't win, hence, making it harder is a waste of time, hence

it being illegal is b.s

must turn over its user information to the Motion Picture Association of America.
LOL Why isn't anyone talking about this portion the most? To hand over it's user information? Like what? IP's? Did TorrentSpy actually have username/password accounts?

How can a U.S. court force a company based in the Netherlands to hand over user information to a COMPANY?

I also asked this same thing, everyone just skipped over it.

I too want to know.

I still can't wrap my mind around how US judges are going to order a website based in the Netherlands to turn over their user information. How exactly are they going to enforce that order? I really doubt the Netherlands are going to extradite these guys based on a civil complaint in the US.

Ummm... did anyone mention freedom? What is this, fvcking China? What a pile of bullsh*t.

So you think it's your legal right to do something that's illegal?

what again, is illegal?

Downloading copyrighted material.

If you honestly think that TorrentSpy is used for anything other than that, then you are nuts.

If I wanted to duplicate copyrighted material, I'd use a dvd recorder to record content on TV or rented from a video store. I guess, we should shut those down as well???

MPAA is not stupid to file a suit in US courts, they will do it in Netherlands, hence asking for user access logs makes sense. There are precendents, it has been done before, just google for DVD John.

well, if they delete the logs now, MIAA can go have a sexual intercourse with itself and/or with RIAA.
