Honestly. Fuck Kentucky. Rand Paul voted against Sandy relief which affected my area, among other GQP senators. Until Trump, I would have always said let's help the people of Kentucky out without hesitation. No second thoughts.

It was pretty freaking unnerving, EMA BCS screeched out over my work cell phone at around 4am, it was thunder and lightning along with monsoon rains coming down.

The scariest part is I have a tree that leans towards end of my house and would crush the corner of my bedroom if it fell.
Just last weekend, the storms that came through knocked several large branches off at around 1am and sounded like roof was going to cave in. Fortunately we have a metal roof. Happened another 2 times before the storms passed. Needless to say I didn't sleep from 1am onwards, and had to work at 8am.

Thankfully no tornadoes in our county, but plenty of power outages, which caused internet outages. Got them all back up before 5pm. The electric company did a hell of a job too.

Just so you know, the metal in your metal roof is more for a long lasting durable cover, not for structural reinforcement. an 80ft pine fell on my roof via hurricane Irma and punched through it easily, trees are extremely heavy and a falling tree is a lot of energy getting released.

Interesting, watching Fox news poised out there in front of that destroyed nursing home pretending to be all concerned about the deaths. Yet never a concern about those nursing home covid deaths as Fox, Tucker and Hannity preached to their viewers not to get vaccinated and never to wear masks. "Stay at work" and "Stay and work" are two different things.... it's possible the employer had a good faith hope that keeping people in a commercial building would have been better than having them try and drive home or go to a house without a proper shelter.

I'm not going to jump on that headline until I know more.

Anyone who knows anything about building structures and tornadoes knows places like warehouses are not safe for the same reason as a school gym. Too much open space absent supporting structures.

This was another eerie mid-November tornado that you just don't expect.

One of the worst things you can do is be on the road if it hits. I've been in a small midwest town with tornado sirens going off and at work. My boss would get us all down to the basement instead of letting us drive home.

Building wise, I don't know much about where they worked. There's not much out there that can withstand an F5. Hurricanes are one thing. F5's are an entirely different beast. They can be twice as powerful as the most powerful hurricane. And the twisting motion is just something you have the see the aftermath of to understand the destructive nature.

Expect more of them, here in central FL if will get to 80 today, will need to use AC this afternoon, IN DECEMBER!, this winter is following a pattern I've noticed the last 10 years, milder and milder winters than ever, been here 43 years so I remember what December used to bring.
