Topical Pain Relievers

Currently I'm using 0.1% capsaicin cream and DMSO for pain relief from joint and muscle pain. My pain is caused by some lower back problems that a chiro is helping me resolve and leftover swelling and tenderness from a bad case of tendinitis.

Is there anything more potent out there that I'm missing out on? Maybe something I can harass my doc to give me a script for? I'm not interested in oral NSAIDs or anything like that because of the side effects.

Basically if I could find the heat of molten lead, in a topical cream, that would totally be tits.

Wouldn't the dmso carry the capsaicin cream through the skin? Dangerous?

My bro uses voltaren gel.

No clue if it's supposed to be dangerous, but I usually don't use them at the same time. DMSO before bed, and capsaicin during the day when I don't want to stink of DMSO.

I will definitely investigate this voltaren stuff, never heard of it before.

Thanks!

does your chiropractor do ultrasound treatments? if so, would you give me permission to call him and give him a recommendation that you might like?

I appreciate the offer but he's just about got my back at 100%. Mainly I need the stuff for my left shoulder/elbow where, a few months back, the tendinitis was so bad I couldn't use the arm at all for a couple weeks.

right, i understand. that's what i'm trying to have him help you with.

chiropractors treat the musculoskeletal system... that means any joint, not just the spine.
