...report that Top Gun 2 is in the works. Apparently, a script-outline is out to Tom Cruise and if he approves by recreating the image above, get ready to rock like it?s 1986.

Question is, when would the movie be placed? It'd be cool if they could do something where he's an instructor now and working with the "kids" on the JSF ...
 
Sounds cool, but the more I think about it...

What made Top Gun? Tom Cruise? Nicole Kidman? No, the F-14 made Top Gun. If Maverick is in the F-22 it just won't be the same. Don't get me wrong, the plane is sexy and damn impressive, but the F-14 is one of the sexiest planes ever made. It had just the right curves to make it so visually appealing (and great for the silver screen). On top of that the script I'm sure is just churned out so they could put the Top Gun name on it, not because it is actually any good.

I would love to see Top Gun 2 if made right, but I doubt that would happen.

The movie's main villain will be Goose. Turns out, he didn't really die and he's pissed as hell because Maverick abandoned him in the water.
 
Inside scoop: It's not a sequel, but a Pre-quel. Goes all the way back to the Civil War to the Hot Air Balloon Reconassiance/Sighting Division of the US Army. It was a division that found targets and directed Artillery fire. The cimematic Birds eye view of battles is said to be "simply astounding!"

As yet unrated, but Violence and many Sextant scenes throughout.
