Yeah not really feeling it, but will give it a shot. They should just buy some HD camera's for the real Top Gear and broadcast it sooner than they currently do. A big part of the intrigue of that one - for me at least - is the fact they're reviewing cars not available in the US. That's especially interesting when you see what the domestic manufacturers sell over seas.

I have to agree on all counts there :) Wish i could get a couple of the cars shown on Top Gear to enjoy here.

I'll give it a chance, no matter how slight. Maybe 1 or 2 episodes, but if they cant figure out why Top Gear is epic by then, I'll just give it up right there.

This looks, sounds, and feels like rubbish. It's basically three frat guys standing around laughing.

One of the things that makes Top Gear so good is the underlying and never overtly acknowledged edgy sarcasm and humor. Like when the hosts drive through the American South with pretty inflammatory statements painted on their cars. Or when cars "accidentally" get pushed off of cliffs.

Just absolutely Bleh!!!

Without the anti-Americanism towards US cars ... the show has no chance.

Severe disappoint ...

Not overly impressed...but I'll give it a chance. Chemistry is something that develops...even Top Gear UK didn't get it right at first. I'll give it a season and if it continues to not impress, I'll probably still watch it as there are few shows on TV that impress me anyway these days.

Not having Carolla seems like a huge missed opportunity - he's brilliantly funny (at least IMO), he's a true gearhead, and he's edgy and unafraid to express his opinion. Tanner Foust is a complete bore - he's like wallpaper paste - and the other two guys also seem really dull. Apparently the reason Carolla dropped out was that he was briefly under contract to develop a (failed) pilot for ABC and so he was contractually barred from doing NBC's Top Gear. Somewhere there is an actual pilot of the Carolla TG and I'd be very interested to see it.

No, I mean hot. Not hot for a female race car driver :) but honest, real hot.Wow, what a dumb name. Like Channing Tatum.

Anyway, back to the girl, get that Latino lady who was on the Rosetta Stone commercial in the pink blouse and teach her how to drive.

Okay, how about Courtney Hansen? She's into cars and she's definitely hot!

The interplay of personalities was missing in this. Seemed more like three good ol' boys than like three distinct personalities coming together. One of the reasons that the BBC top gear works so well is the differences in personalities among the hosts; differences that are apparent even in shorter clips.

The impression that I got from this trailer, however, was that all three people wanted to ape Clarkson and, as much fun as Clarkson is to watch, no-one wants to watch three of him; it just gets boring. For the show to work, they need at the very least some version of Captain Slow to balance the bombast and to act as a straight man for the comedy.

Throck's suggestion of Tim Allen would actually be just about perfect. He'd be able to function in Clarkson's role without having to actually be trying to imitate Clarkson. And although he's not a TV personality, I think that someone like Peter Egan (writer for Road and Track) would make a fantastic host as well; he's dry enough to manage May's role in the banter, but a decent race driver too (and Egan's influence might get some motorcycles on the show, which would be awesome).

I hope they put a bit of... you know... history into the show. I liked some of the previous car related shows History channel had like Automaniac.

This looks like a lame parody of Top Gear produced and acted in by stoner college students... Maybe it will be popular among the few Always Sunny in Philadelphia fans who also like cars

Has anyone seen the first 3 or 4 seasons of Top Gear? They are terrible. It takes time and refinement. The hosts have to build up their relationships with each other and the audience. So many people watch it just for Clarkson, Hammond, and May and "3 guys cocking about in cars." It looks like that's what they're trying to replicate.
