Anyone get chills when they were standing around laughing during the moonshine bit? Man, that looked terrible - like they were trying to imitate too hard or something.

If they didn't call it Top Gear I would probably like it. As it is, I'll probably watch anyway, but I'll be a little disappointed the whole time.

The problem is, people are expecting it to be similar to Top Gear, as well as imitate Top Gear. It should be a different show entirely

I agree that it looks like they were trying to hard to mimic the original but I still think it has potential

Why should it be a different show. Iron Chef America has the same format as Iron Chef. If you name the show the same thing, it should keep the same basic parameters, a show about cars, with three hosts that do goofy things while reviewing or doing things with said cars. I think they shouldnt have bothered at all however, you could NEVER replicate the chemistry that Hammond, Clarkson and May have, there's just no way. Plus, it's British, when Clarkson said "Neva miss an apex... EVAH!" in the Arial Atom episode, it was awesome. Put that in a American accent, and i'm turning a channel.

They need guys who are not so bland and blah. Like epic beard man or somebody who is just 100 percent always a total asshole. Something to make the show interesting. Top Gear in the UK works because all of the hosts are completely perfect wankers. In a true, pure sense of the word they are wankers. What are these guys?

No kidding...and nobody has ever heard of this guy. At least Adam Carolla has some name recognition. Honestly, they should have had someone like Tommy Kendall on this show too and then get some young hip comedian to serve as sidekick to the other two.

There just isn't any chemistry between these guys. At least not that I could see. The whole thing looked too forced.

I agree, maybe someone like what Simon Cowell was on American Idol. Actually, he turned in a very good lap time on Top Gear, and he's not on American Idol anymore... hmmm.

There are too many cars shows already but I would actually watch this if they had a very hot chick as one of the main hosts but she also knew how to drive, honest to goodness could drive the hell out of a Ferrari around a track. And I guarantee it would take the ratings stratospheric. So transparent but so predictable and so easy. Why not?

They could just put it in a 1.5 hour slot instead of 1. More commercials but it would all be there.

Then they could cut out Star Trek.

Who the fuck watches BBC America for Star Trek: TNG anyway?

He said a woman that can drive. :D

The preview makes the show look terrible, absolutely terrible. I hope the show is decent, but I'm not going into it expecting much. It might last two seasons, but I doubt it. Hopefully I'm proven wrong though.

I didn't like that at all. Looked more like a bunch of stupid people getting together and doing stupid stuff.

In the real Top Gear, you actually learn about cars and you get to actually care about the junkers that they buy. It's almost inspirational. But when I watched that, it was like they were torturing a kitten and laughing about it.

Yeah not really feeling it, but will give it a shot. They should just buy some HD camera's for the real Top Gear and broadcast it sooner than they currently do. A big part of the intrigue of that one - for me at least - is the fact they're reviewing cars not available in the US. That's especially interesting when you see what the domestic manufacturers sell over seas.
