Yeah, but you could see the guilt in her face. Bet she's gonna lose sleep over it. She probably fucked up and didn't realize it.

I really like Dale, so I enjoy seeing him victorious.

I got the system figured out, whoever they focus on during the show is gonna be on the chopping block. Makes you feel more emotionally attached I guess.

The preview for restaurant wars looks awesome.

Really hoping for Dale/Richard in the final, Antonia is pretty damn good too.

yes i cant wait for next week, the restaurant wars looks really cool.

when the other chef who said that dale can only cook Asian it got me thinking i do believe she is right, i don't think ive seen dale cook anything but Asian when he was to cook his own dish. nothing wrong with that he is very good at cooking Asian, but shouldn't a top chef be well rounded and not be a one quizine chef?

Haha funny I thought the same thing; we haven't seen him cook anything else. Doesn't mean he can't though, so we'll see how it goes. At least he can cook asian well, unlike spike lol. Everytime spike does a vietnamese dish a part of me dies on the inside

I'm hoping Antonia makes it pretty far. I didn't really like her at first, but more and more it's becoming easy to root for her. I also like Dale a lot too. Like he said, 5 out of 20 is pretty damn good.

Richard has talent and can be fun to watch, but his underlying attitude kinda irks me.

Spike and Lisa going down in the next 2 weeks, imo. Stephanie started out pretty strong in the non-quickfires but lately is steadily going down.

It clearly seems to me:

Richard/Dale/Antonia Top 3
Spike/Lisa/Stephanie Bottom 3

I think that's everyone left...

i agree with you prediction. spike and andrew are the same arragant ego manicas and wont make it to the end.

Richard does come across as a arragant ass but the man has the talent to back it up.

I bet it comes down to either Dale or Richard, they both are really good but i think Richard is a more well rounded and experienced chef and will win it.

You gotta admit though, Richard giving Lisa that award was pretty cool. 2k at Crate & Barrel buys some pretty cool stuff.

I can't get enough of these cooking shows. Top Chef/Kitchen Nightmares (BBC)/Hell's Kitchen. MOAR.

Richard gave that to Stephanie for the wedding cake, right? That was cool, I agree. Honestly tho I think Richard is savvy, and is playing the judges. Not in a devious manner tho, and most likely is just smart playing of the game.

Hell's kitchen is alright, is Kitchen Nightmares where that same guy goes to restaurants and helps them turn things around? If so, that show rocks! I love watching him tell owners/kitchen managers that they essentially suck, and should do everything completely different.

Yeah it was the wedding cake.

That's Kitchen Nightmares alright. Been stuck on BBC america, they play an EP everyday so I'm getting caught up on like 4 years worth. You can see Gordon's progression haha. That guy is a fucking wizard. I don't see why (the restaurants in question) even hesitate to take his advice. It's clear whatever they're doing isn't working, so they should stop being arrogant fucks or their business is going to fail.

heheh yip.

Gordon "you have 100 items on your menu?
dumb ass owner "yes and we are keeping all of them"
Gordon "you have 18 year old lads in the kitchen cooking beef wellington and blood pudding with no experience?"
dumb ass owner "yes we are keeping them, they are tearaway lads who need help"
Gordon "what are you fucking stupid? no wonder nobody is coming to eat your rubbish"

me "LOL!"

I'd say no too, but the judges thought much different in season 2 when they chose Ilan who for the most part only cooked spanish food. I was shocked.

On another note...this year has a much different feel to it, not as much comraderie as other years (even tho there's always pockets of hate and hostility.) Even Padma's had more fun and closer relationships with contestants of previous years than this one, but this year seems all business.

/edit: maybe that's why they brought Sam back...Padma cried when she told him to pack his knives, lol.

Dale was proof that great skill is not enough if you are too narrow in your expertise and can't play nice with others.

And how is Lisa still there? She seems to be the most unpleasant person on the entire planet.

This has been a good season so far, but I'm still not sure that Richard should even be on the show, at least not in the usual field that they get. His career accomplishments are clearly beyond what anyone else has done, and the guy should be competing against stronger competition. It's easy to see why they do it, though, the audience can identify a clear frontrunner from the first episode and either hate him (hope he screws up) or love him (and hope he wins, then tell everyone they called it).

He's at least not an arrogant dick like Hung was last year. Richard knows he's good, but take last night's show for example, he didn't HAVE to be in total control, and still managed to help win. For that, I can't hate the guy, but part of me wants to see him screw up and get eliminated just to liven up the competition. Let's face it, if he's in the final, he wins.

I think Lisa's gone next week, leaving Antonia, Spike, Richard, and Stephanie. Spike's the next weakest there, but who knows. After they sent home a potential winner early last year (Tre), anything can happen.

Me and my girlfriend were saying the same thing to each other last night.

Stephanie back near the top. I am still thinking it's either Antonia or Richard. If Spike or Lisa don't get the boot next week I will be shocked and pissed.

i must say i'm very surprised that Dale was kicked off. I thought lisa was going to go for sure, because all in all, dale is a better chef than she is regardless of the performance last night.

I agree that Richard is the front runner. The Willy Wonka thing alone put him a step above everyone else. To be fair, the sous-vide salmon looked pretty nasty.

It seems Richard has seafood issues. He can't clean salmon or clams, apparently.

I think Antonia wins. I'm calling it!

I also want to try Dale's butterscotch scallops to see how bad it was.

Aside from the teams being obviously different in caliber from the outset, as soon as I saw Dale's menu, I was certain he was going home. Restaurant Wars usually sends the executive chef out, or at least the losing one is the frontrunner to go. With those judges, even I knew that butterscotch scallops was an absolute loser.

Dale and Lisa both wanted to be executive chef and they flipped a coin. If Dale had been smart, he would have just let her be it. While he probably would not have been able to win, he would've also been largely safe from elimination. I know that their personalities make them want control, but if he were a little smarter, he would've realized that he had the weaker team, that they didn't work well together in the past, and that the better of the other two chefs was running front of the house that night. In the end, Dale's own ego and a touch of stupidity got him knocked out. He didn't know how to play the game.

Hell, the judges even told Spike taking front of the house was the safest move.

Tell it I hate them!

Dale did say after he was eliminated that when he became the executive chef that he thought he might be going home and that he had made a bad decision. I think his ego did get the better of him on that. I would say he knew how to play the game, but just made a couple critical judgment errors in that challenge.

I agree on the menus... once they laid it out I was definitely concerned for Mai Buddha.
