It was pretty good for RTS fans, IMO. AoM, WCIII, and RoN were all well-received.

They all came out in 2003, right? :)

Max Payne 2
I'm digging SSX3 now
The Zelda compilation disc is smooth (but not exactly "new" games)
Soul Calibur II is quality (but in some respects not as good as the original)
Desert Combat, while not brand spanking new, really took off this year

That's my list for right now - between my Gamecube and my PC I think I'm set for a while.

1. Call of Duty
2. Halo (yes, despite performance problems) (the fact that it was released 3 years ago on Xbox makes it far less exciting, but only going by the amount of fun I had, this one definately goes here)
3. Max Payne 2

The majority of people on this forum seem to play and love shooters above all else.

1. Splinter Cell
2. Vice City
3. Max Payne 1.5

Simpsons, NBA Live and Madden were all time well wasted.

I've got Call of Duty, Deus Ex 2, and NFS: U all waiting for me. I put them off until I got home after finals, and now I don't have a machine to play them on. Heh. Hopefully I can update my list.

Call of Dugy
Halo for PC
Unreal2 (beautiful graphics and now has multiplayer)
Max Payne 2 (great graphics)

I tried Vice City but I didn't like it. Haven't tried Dues Ex 2 yet. Still looking forward to UT2004 even if it's just to see the graphics.

From the 2003 games I've purchased the best ones would have to be the Breakthrough expansion for MOHAA, Vietcong, and Star Trek Elite Force II.

I'm really surprised Splinter Cell was on so few lists. Y'all just like to blow things up, huh? ;)

Hitman 2 and Splinter Cell are the only games I've played that have provided a great balance of strategy and action for me. If only Splinter Cell were a bit less linear--hopefully Pandora Tomorrow will provide it.
