Top 2 iOS annoyances?

I was thinking about how it's pretty crazy that some items have still not been addressed in iOS considering how well polished it otherwise is.

My top two are...

1: STILL no native find on page function. Just crazy IMO. I know theres the bookmark method and it's probably safe to assume there's some "fix" available in cydia but come on Apple!

2: No way to upload to sites from safari. Prime examples are sites like pics.bbzzdd.com where you'd do a browse function on a desktop that'd browse your file system. I know there's not available file system access natively but you'd think by now such a common Internet function would warrant a solution that at least brought up your photos.

So what's your top 2 iOS gripes?

The lack of a "find" function is also one of my bugbears... that and the relatively clumsy way of switching between apps - if I'm doing work (mostly on the iPad) which requires a fair bit of switching between two apps fairly often I just wish for a three- or four-fingered swipe to switch rather than having to double click and open the other app... sure, it's all of a second or two but it could be smoother, y'know?

Are you talking about Safari? If so you can do this already.

One gripe I can think of, when calendar appointments pop up, there is no way to select "remind me again in 5 minutes". This might be more of a gripe about iOS notification system...

You may want to precise iOS for iPhones.

The 'find on page' function is definitively lacking on iPhones, but it is built-in safari for iPad (within the google search box).

The biggest issue I have with iOS is the way it handles notifications. Unlike OSX, it is very intrusive and it stop you on your tracks whatever you are doing. I think Apple could implement a more discreet approach like the way OSX does it.

iOS could definitively use more gestures like 3 or 4 finger swapping to switch between apps and return home. I'd also like to see some improvement in the iPod player. Notably the ability to create custom playlists when you are reading from an itune homeshare.

You can search a page on the iPhone the same way that you can on the iPad, via the Google box.

My top gripes:

1. Notifications
Notified Pro is close, but still a little lacking.

2. Multitasking
The multitasking is close, but just needs a little more. I'd like a toggle to only show active apps on double tap, and maybe a way to search the bar? So if you double tap, then swipe up, it shows a keyboard and you can search for an app instead of having to scroll through that small bar, or go back to the home screen.

What do you mean find? Like when you're in Safari and you try to find something on the page?

Yeah this sucks, but there are other browsers that support uploading.

Find on Page using the Google search box just like with iPhone. Or alternatively, download a third-party browser.

Upload is supported using iCab Mobile (unless they are using Flash forms). So I don't think it is a limitation of the OS but rather a limitation of the app in question...

My biggest two gripes about iOS:

1) Double click home is annoying. There must be a better way to access the multitasking bar.

2) Brightness control is horrible on iPhone. Jailbreaking is not an option.

Keeping ever app I open in the "app bar". Figure out how to let me choose.
No AirPlay for keynote presentations to AppleTV.

I don't really mind the notification system. While it is not ideal, it really doesn't bother me all that much. There are things that I would rather have over it.

I'm still on 4.2.1 so these might not apply anymore:

- No "mark all as read" button, or way to select a list of them to mark as read. I had to get a jailbreak app which introduces this function so seamlessly that I'm shocked it's not there natively.

-No way to "snap to bottom" in safari like you can "snap to top" by tapping the status bar. Very often I want to get to the very bottom of a page which is long enough for scroll to be annoying. At least give me better control over scrolling, like when my finger is on the bar on the right, let me scroll like I'm clicking on the bar on a PC browser.

Plays havoc with ram usage. Especially on jailbroken devices for some reason.

Aside from what everyone else said...

1. No scroll bar. I'd appreciate it when reading long documents/web pages, instead of swiping like crazy.

2. I'd really like a res select option in the Youtube app like regular YT has. I don't always want to play high def content, especially on slow WiFi connections. It always defaults to full HD on WiFi.

iCab browser supports uploads BTW. I'm surprised people still use Safari Mobile when there are a ton of better browsers.

Start searching in the search bar and the bottom of the list will be an entry for 'find on page.' Please learn before complaining, ktnx.

1. No phone calls only mode. This is STUPID in my opinion. So simple, and would allow one toggle instead of 3 to make it so the phone can be left in a mode where you can hear it ring, but not ding with every text, e mail or calendar notification that comes through at 2am.

2. No way to Archive AND/OR Delete in gmail, it only makes you pick one or the other way over in the settings. I do want to archive SOME e mails, and delete some OTHERS, as it is the vast majority of the e mails that i get i do delete, so i set the option to delete, but the ones i want to archive, i either have to go through the settings to set it that way and go back to the inbox, or, like always since thats a PITA, wait til I log into gmail from a PC of some sort. Such a small simple thing that would go miles.

The funny thing is that I have flash disabled on my desktops as well as having iOS and I have really never missed it.

The occasions to do run into issues with flash, 99% of the time I am on my desktop and then just enable it via clicktoflash.

Static lock screen is so wasted. Not to mention the push-app home screen. Revolutionary for 2007, outdated for 2011.

1. No lock screen data (like Intelliscreen) - for quick-look stuff

2. No jump-to-bottom in Safari (only jump to top) - stinks for reading long pages like forums

Two more are cannot mark as spam. Used that a lot on my droid. Also, I want it to just underline a word in red that's misspelled but not auto-correct it. So frustrating that if you turn off auto-correct it forces spell check to he disabled.

Notifications, I think they can do a much better job with this, it interrupts whatever I am doing.

That's about it for me lol.

Notifications for sure. I hate the mass deluge of notifications if I don't have my phone on me for a few hours. That and it sucks to be interrupted while playing angry birds.

There are alot of sites like ustream that use flash video. It's just lame to pull up a website and not be able to fully view content.

IOS includes Java... you can toggle it on and off. Why not do that with flash too?
