I had some sweet tea while in North Carolina. Even as someone who loves sugary drinks and foods, this was just absurd.

for me there isn't too sweet. now some really sweet things like cake with lots of sugary icing make me want a glass of water or milk.

too rich on the other hand... anything that is chocolate with chocolate and then chocolate sauce and then chocolate chips and then more chocolate is just too rich for me. i only really get this with super chocolaty stuff.

I didn't like Trix even when I was a kid, nasty stuff.

But I still eat sweet ass cereal to this day. Love me some honey comb, or cookie crisp, or capt crunch, or Golden grahams. MMMMMmmmm, cereal

All of this. I can eat a whole box of Froot Loops in one morning. Freaking love kids cereals; cereal in general actually.

Your sugar addiction is clearly out of control.

I used to be that way - nothing was ever too sweet. The more it was labeled "too sweet" by others, it only got ever so slightly closer to "just right" to my buds o'the taste.

Now?
Shit... if it's even classified as sweet, I probably can't handle it anymore. I'm so damn proud of how much I've weened myself off sugar. I mean, I'm only 25... I can't even really tolerate frosting anymore. Just yesterday I basically scraped off the frosting on a cupcake. I can't do that kind of sugar anymore.

It's not an age thing, it's a "I swore off sugar" thing. I still eat more carbs and sugar than I truly desire, but at this point, I've successfully adjusted my body to the point that I can get by on far, far less than I had ever taken in when I was younger.
I used to down 4-6 cans of Coke every day during high school. If I get as much sugar in one day as I could find in a single 12oz can of Coke, my stomach is probably moaning the next day. Through enough education, I realized how terrible that kind of sugar intake is for you; I try to minimize how many carbs I take in, from all sources, and the one I focus on the most at this point is pure sugars.

No such thing as too sweet. Almost nothing too rich, except the fettucine alfedo at the Italian Restaurant at Epcot world showcase Italian pavilion.

most soda is too sweet to me, i'll usually water it down to 50/50 water. coke though gets ~25% coke/ 75% water. if i get a fountain drink i'll load it up with ice, the best part is near the end when there's just a little soda left and lots of melting ice.

We already do eat flavored sugar straight.
In fact there are so many products I couldn't list them.

That's just it though: The flavor can balance it, even if it's still pretty much just straight sugar. Tart + sweet may not be too sweet where sweet alone is. Case in point: The post right after yours. Fun Dip is way more tolerable than a mouth-full of pastry cream.

Really depends.. I can't just say one thing. As I tend to like a lot of sweet things. But at the same time I've ate some chocolate cake that I'd ate about a bite of and put down because it was simply to rich.

My cafeteria at work makes something called brownie delight. It's a really dense brownie with some kind of whipped cream and chocolate chips on top. I'm a fat guy that loves sugar, but halfway through it it's almost physically painful to the teeth to eat. I'm not sure what the whipped cream stuff is, but it's not that light. It might even be closer to frosting than cream, but it doesn't taste like that either.

It was the only thing I've found too sweet.

There's some sort of interaction effect between the cake and the frosting that makes this sickeningly sweet

This can also get out of hand:

Vegetarians have a major issue with diabetes because their tastes swing toward exceptional sweetness.

Krispy Kreme doughnuts.

(this coming from a guy who can eat a half pound of M&Ms at once)

I absolutely agree. I can't stand Krispy Kreme doughnuts, they're just too damn sweet. I can eat some of the ones that don't have any of the glazing on it.

After eating a bunch of sweets, things start to taste too sweet.
If I eat an entire birthday cake for instance, which I do every day, the last few bites taste a little too sweet.

I have a tooth that tells me, my right arm proceeds to smack my knee if I wasn't listening to the tooth.
