I hear people say things are too sweet all the time. I just chalk it up as some sort of brain defect.

I have my own bee hives and frequently will try some of the honey - I'll cut off a little piece of comb full of honey - maybe a tablespoon in size, and pop it into my mouth & chew it, later, spitting out the wax. I love the taste of fresh honey.

But... sweet tea in the South - that's like diabetes in a cup. Thick frosting on grocery store cakes - makes me gag it's so sweet.

I find most boxed cake mixes + canned frostings to be ridiculously sweet.

my sister is a great cake decorator, but she's lazy when it comes to the actual baking and just uses boxed/canned everything. the first time I tried one of her cake pops, I had to duck into the bathroom and spit it out because it was so insanely sugary.

Pepsi or Coke.. I rarely drink it so when I do it feels like the sugar is rotting my teeth right out of my mouth.

I am so glad I don't drink that shit anymore.

That's the fault of whoever prepared it. It's not supposed to be any sweeter than a soda, but I've definitely encountered enough people down here making it WAY too sweet. Same goes for Kool Aid. You can usually water it down. Any establishment will have sweet and unsweet, so just ask for half-sweet (both mixed) and it'll be full strength without too much sugar.

I don't believe "too sweet" exists.

However, I believe "too sweet" in certain contexts makes sense.

Like, If I want ice cream on cinnimon roll or donut, I want tons of sugar.

If I am drinking a cup of coffee, then any sweetness is too much, coffee is supposed to be bitter.

There is much too much sugar added to most food. I want things that are supposed to be sweet super extremely sweet.

I want things that are not traditionally sweet to not be sweet.

That way one can experience the full gamut of flavors.

those supersweet arab pastries covered with sticky stuff.

Found it:

I just can't like stuff soaked in syrup.

I also hate white chocolate, but the fact that it doesn't taste like real chocolate may make it worse.

Also red bull and probably other energy drinks too.

I love my SodaStream! I make my own flavors (Elderberry, Black Cherry, Lemon & Lime juice. I love the bubble, hate the sweet in pop.

I agree, I can only handle a very small amount of that crap. The sad part is that it isn't even tasty, just SWEET. And then they slather it over the most pathetic, flavorless, dried-out cakes imaginable. Considering how ridiculously easy it is to make very delicious cakes, it's pretty sad how many people eat awful ones instead.

I looooove whipped cream frostings, on the other hand. Light, moist, and just somewhat sweet...the perfect dessert topping.

Ya, store cakes are freaking awful.
