Tonsil Stones : Your mouths nasty secret

Somebody posted this on another forum I visit yesterday. Video was at times hard to watch and pretty gross.

What was more gross was getting out my led flashlight and discovering i had these nasty things in the back of my mouth. I've experienced them before and thought it was maybe some really old stuff somehow stuck in my teeth! They smell putrid. I'm guessing alot of people have them and have no idea.

Had those. Not sure how I got them to stop forming, but I pried them out with a chopstick. Hard to do with a gag reflex. They taste as horrible as them smell.

Yeah, I get these little bastards every few weeks it seems. I can't get them out because I have a very strong gag reflex, but they come up on their own at random times. Yeah, they smell and taste putrid. I've heard using a waterpik can get them out but I don't have one so I can't attest to the efficacy of that method. Evil little things, they are though!

people still have Tonsils? Mine were removed about a million years ago when i was round 5yo. Not April 1st so this cant be a joke. is it like brain farts? i heard ass farts and pussy farts but never a brain fart.

I never have a problem with bad breath but I wonder if I have these. This is the 1st time I've ever heard of them. Damnit now in the morning I'm going to be q-tipping around in my mouth trying to see if I got them.

Anyone with tonsils has these, it is excess food waste particles that get trapped. Most people swallow them and don't even notice. I can only tell when I get a buildup because it actually bothers my throat.

Ah, so that is what they are! I had them so many times through my life, but never really cared to much. I discovered by trial and error that they smell absolutely horrible when squished, so I usually just toss em or spit them out when they come up. I wish I could manually scrape them off with something, but then I'll start throwing out.

These tonsil stones... They are along the lines of toe cheese and other stuff such as this.

i like squishing them. it's you KNOW it's bad because its like releasing a deadly fart, but you do it anyway... hahahaha

need to figure out a way to extract them though. the gag reflex is really making using a q-tip hard

I can vouch for the waterpik method. Hurts like hell if you're not careful or go too high with the pressure gauge. However if they're shallow enough in my mouth I'll burst them with my fingers and then rinse them with the waterpik on a low pressure.

yea i had my tonsil's taken out when i was very young too. Seems way better with out them =P never even heard of tonsil stones but i always see girls with some big swollen tonsils in there mouth YUCK! hehe

Yeah these things suck, and can definitely give you bad breath. I've had them before, but I'll straight up admit it--it's when I wasn't keeping my mouth clean on a regular basis. Long as I use proper hygiene and brush at least once a day, I don't have any issues with this.

I got my tonsils out. It was a real shitty 2 weeks, but it was worth it. Been about a year now and no sore throats or anything now. If anybody here has chronic tonsil issues or sore throats I suggest getting them out. Find a ENT doc and talk to them.

I get those; I have a really long tongue though so I can pick them out w/o triggering my gag reflex (although they taste gross).

I've squeezed out a couple of tonsil stones using my finger. I generally only get them when I have a cold or something similar.

I get these on and off. They're most pronounced/noticeable when your mouth is dry from what I've noticed and they feel like when you get a corn kernel stuck on the roof of your mouth.

Actually the kids in my elementary school affectionately named these "hockers" because of the lovely noise they would make trying to force them up and out. Then they would try to squish them on each other.

HWUICHHHHHHHHHHHHH

I've never in my life heard of these before. Now I have the urge to run to the bathroom and see if I have any lol.

How do you do that? You actually reach *into* your throat with your finger to squeeze the stones out?
