If you have a retail hs/fan, a screwdriver will probably be fine, just make sure the clip holds the screwdriver. I find that with Alpha clips, a pair of needle nose pliers are your best friend.

Well the problem was just getting worst, finally the mobo died. I brought it back to the dealer and he replaced it with an Epox 8KTA3. I was up and running in no time. So far I have installed the following in this order:
WIN2K
3-com NIC
SP2
4 in 1 drivers (did not install the AGP part)
USB filter
Nvidia 10.8 drivers

Up to this point I have 0 problems, I have a lot to finish up here:
Next to install

TB Santa Cruz
Pinnacle DV500+
Raid controller (I was using onboard Promise, not sure if I?ll add a Promise or other)
Epson 1270 printer
Epson Perfection 1200U scanner

I?ll keep you all up to date as I go.

Thanks for your help.

FYI, the on-board controller for the 8K7A+ is a Highpoint one, not a Promise.

Did you install the AGP Miniport drivers from AMD, or just nothing at all? I was thinking of installing it after SP2, but it might not be necessary...

I'm gonna be putting together a similar setup in a few days when all my components have arrived. Then I'll be in the same fun boat as you. :D

EDIT: A-duh! You said 8KTA3, not 8K7A. Disregard my irrelevent comments!

The mobo is the Epox 8KTA3 without the onboard RAID, I plan on adding a RAID card, I didn't get the one with onboard RAID because I've had problems in the past with Highpoint.

I installed SP2 and did not install the AMD AGP.

If you plan on doing any gaming, I would recommend installing DirectX before the Nvidia drivers.
