Yet , it s wrong mathematicaly because when you mean half speed
you re implicitly thinking that 50% less speed is the same
as 50% slower....
Essentially; you are proposing that something being 100% will counter something that is 100% slower.
That's fine, but what if we look at only 10% faster/slower?
If it's 10% faster, you will go from 100 km/h to 110 km/h.
If it's "10% slower", you will go from 100 km/h to 91 km/h.
Intuitively, 10% slower would mean 10%*100 km/h = 10km/h slower, or 90 km/h.
If it's 50% faster, you will go from 100 km/h to 150 km/h.
If it's "50% slower" you will go from 100 km/h to 67 km/h.
Intuitively, 50% slower would mean 50%*100km/h = 50 km/h slower, or 50 km/h.
How does that even make sense??
Thinking about it that way results in the term "slower" involves a different mathematical operation than the term "faster". It would mean that slowing down by 50% means a different thing that 50% slower. Or it could mean you
could never slow down to a stop. Which is just stupid. It just contributes to ambiguity.
