this game runs like crap I don't know why. Great looking game though.

On my 7870 tahiti average from rate on ultra settings (except msaa) is around 30-40 fps. There are a lot of dips to 15-20 at cut scenes and certain angles or areas where it's below 30.

That benchmark doesn't mean much compared to the real game play.

Poor optimization.

I lose something like 35% of fps with vsync on, but I have an older IPS TV with low response time, so the screen tearing is unbearable with it off.

With it off I'm averaging about 80 fps at Ultra with 2xSSAA but its down to like 55 fps with vsync on.

With everything maxed out without msaa, 1080p tresfx enabled, shadows ultra etc i avg 60+ fps and in real world gameplay it is a bit better still.

You need a new TV(Monitor) 🙂

I get no screen tearing with my Vizio 32" IPS that I could see. Didn't try playing the game on LOW settings but did run the benchmark.

Thought I was gonna be cpu limited sporting a i3-3225 guess not at 1080p at least.

My Vizio Tv also doesn't show screen tearing at 125 FPS and its only 60Hz

Mines 120Hz but I doubt the input is. Pretty much tweaked all the features off when I set it up.

Tried running at 1024x768 @75HZ to see if cpu craps out. Guess Tomb Raider doesn't demand a strong CPU.

Still no tearing! Looks like crap tho....Reminds me of XBOX version 🙂

no isn't CPU bound

Played the whole game maxed out 2560x1440 (FXAA only though) and had no issues with the framerate. I did sometimes get the tessellation bug where you get severe artifacts with Nvidia cards. Usually quitting the game and reloading would clear it up. I could have turned off tessellation to get rid of this bug but I wanted all the eye candy. I am just surprised that nearly month after release we are still having this severe bug.

The game itself seemed bugged at times too. Like the camera did not rotate around to show me the path to take and I ended up jumping to my death a few times, some QTEs failed even when I pressed the right button. The game was quality though. Good action, good exploration, good voice acting, decent story that made you feel for the characters.

Like I said, I don't think the benchmark proves anything. Many cut scenes or certain areas of the game I have dropped below 30 fps. Rarely am I in the average range. I don't think the game is optimized.

I play at 1680x1050, only maybe 10-15% difference from 1080p.

All settings ULTRA including ultra shadows.

Here's the benchmark and an in game screenshot.
