I don't think I ever dropped below 30 ever. That said, I am sure I could stand at a certain spot and put the camera at a certain angle and say "look guys I get low FPS."

What you are showing doesn't necessarily prove anything about the game code.

It's that crap called TressFX, anytime you zoom in on the head be it in gameplay, or in engine based cuts it will bog your system to heck.

Not really much you can do, either disable TressFX and enjoy a stupid huge performance boost, or live with the stutter when it zooms in.

I never really noticed any slow down either with tressfx turned on the whole play through @2560x1440. It may very well have dropped down by 30 fps when it zoomed in but I guess I may have had the fps to spare to not notice, not sure.

Fun game though, and easily one of the best looking i've played in ages, some of the scenery was amazing.

Hey Balla, what are your clocks when playing this game and for the benchmark? You FPS are impressive.

1250/1700 I think, we both know you can do better :awe:

Yeah but not sure why my minimum FPS is so low?

Did you try lower memory speed? Possibly error correction kicking in.

I can try. From what I have read Error Correcting doesn't set in until 1900Mhz on these cards. My memory will max out at 1860Mhz at 1.7v - will not go any higher

Had a weird issue with a black overlay after I alt-tabbed out, had to end task game.

Lara without TressFX looks so bad, you can't in good conscience turn it off. :/

I've been recording clips with FRAPs on my second play through, mostly because I was sick of the crappy X360 and PS3 recordings on Youtube.

Possible spoilers, though, at this point, you should have finished the game by now. ;)

Yeah, then TressFX is pretty glitchy itself and tends to look unnatural and almost as if textures flash. Still, without it like you said...terrible.

Seems to scale poorly with clock speed.

7950 @ GHz speeds

8620779691_93dfb969f0_h.jpg

1050 -> 1300 = 24%

1500 -> 1850 = 23.5%

58.2 -> 64.5 = 11%

Yeah, it is weird since it's faster than my old card that was clocked higher as well same drivers/system.

What drivers are you running? I will compare with the same clocks. Also my Tomb Raider is not an updated version if there is one?

Mine is v1.00716.5 Not sure if that is making a difference? I know this is off topic, but you have me interested now. Run The valley benchmark and let me know what you get - On extreme HD setting. Post your results on the Thread on here.

Why didn't yours update? They did do some performance tweaks if I remember correctly.

Not sure, is there a manual way to update it?

EDIT: Never mind - Updating now - Dumb Moment..

EDIT 2: Even with the updated driver I am only seeing a 3 fps increase to 60 fps - So you are still 4 Fps ahead with the same clocks. Looks like your 7950 is faster clock for clock or something is going on with my card?
