When I'm done with TR, I'll take a look at the Uncharted titles. Where should I start, I see several editions of each on Amazon?

Keep in mind too, Tomb Raider is 20 years older than Uncharted. Give corporate two decades to run that franchise into the ground, and it'll be in the same boat. :p

You aren't really missing anything just getting the regular versions of each game.

Uncharted 1 is a great game, but in all honesty, it's just work you have to put in to get to the masterpiece that is Uncharted 2.

There is one MAJOR advantage that TR has over uncharted thought. It's the fact that its not a console exclusive.

Besides uncharted and metal gear, there was no reason for me to own a ps3.

How do you feel about Uncharted 3? I picked up a PS3 a few months ago and I'm planning on playing the Uncharted games. Whenever I walk into the store they have like a million copies of Uncharted 3 for $20 but I can never find Uncharted 2, lol.

Uncharted 3 is certainly a great game. It is pretty much the same thing as 2, but suffers a bit from some story elements that move into the paranormal, which I didn't care so much for. Still easily worth $20...it just didn't have the magic that 2 had.

2 was very good and 3 is a little more intense but it's great. Definitely might as well get the whole series. The story is better but similar to the other 2 and the platforming is more interesting. I really enjoy it. Both 2 and 3 are longer than the first game. Once you Starr playing you want to keep going.

The jump from Uncharted 1 to Uncharted 2 was massive in just about every way. Uncharted 3 wasn't as revolutionary, but more of the same. You can tell Naughty Dog has this formula down to a science. Still a very good game. But if you could only play one, play Uncharted 2. Then Uncharted 3 and Uncharted 1. You could probably get all 3 for under $50, so play them all.

All the Uncharteds dabble in the supernatural, which is the only negative thing I could say about the series. That and its not on PC. :p I also want to reiterate that there is room for both Uncharted and Tomb Raider. I wish we could get a new game from each franchise every year.

I found 3 to be fantastic. The whole airplane / desert bit was such a great experience.

I also found the supernatural to be a little out of place until I remembered that the "source" material for both TR and uncharted had quite a few paranormal events. By source I mean Indiana jones of course.

I was just about to say that. Indiana Jones movies were loaded with supernatural themes..

I haven't played Tomb Raider yet, but I definitely plan on doing so since I'm a fan of adventure games like the Uncharted series.

Wouldn't it be cool to have a game that featured both Lara Croft AND Nathan Drake? :D

Talk about star crossed lovers...

Kind of. Indy wasn't killing supernatural creatures left and right. The occult element was always at the end, and he never went against it. Uncharted and Tomb Raider are more like...what would have happened if Indy didnt stop the Nazi's from getting the Ark or Grail.

I see someone else has completely glossed over the abomination that was the last Indy movie.

Just finished the second playthrough on hard with 100% complete. Wasn't significantly more difficult than normal level, I probably could've started the game on hard. Took about 32 hours between both and getting all but one of the SP achievements. Probably all of the mileage I'll get out of this game, but it was a good run. With the free key from my GPU upgrade, the price was right.

lol, well that was more sci fi than the normal Nazi/occult thing. In Temple of Doom that dude really just had a strong hand. He couldn't beat Indy straight up.

All done, 83% complete. Gave up trying to collect the GPS beacons, seemed to be useless.

Hard a really hard time with the timing of some of the QTEs in the boss fights, hitting the right key at the right time was a bitch.

Finished the game this weekend with 100% collection rate on all the items and challenges and stuff.

Thoughts? Way too easy. Puzzles are a joke. Good graphics and lovely environment though, there are certainly tons of tense moments that get your adrenaline flowing.

The perks feel like they should do a bit more. outside of the survival perks the combat and specialist perks feel like they're pretty worthless. Never ran out of ammo either, headshots with the bow is extremely easy since none of the guys really get into cover much.

Overall a one off fun game but nothing worth replaying.

I did run low on ammo during the final battles and on the boss fight with Borys. With Borys, I'd exhausted my rifle ammo before I figured out what to do, handgun and bow weren't very effective with him. Same during the final battle sequence, the bow is too slow to be effective with the number of Solarii and Stormguard attacking combined with the weather effects. Handgun was too slow, and I found the shotgun ineffective at distance. Ended up running out of useful ammunition in those situations.

I feel this TR is a good reboot though, and I hope to see more from Crystal Dynamics in this continuity. They should nix multiplayer in the future though, there's no place for it in a Tomb Raider game and it just wastes dollars and dev resources that would be better served polishing up the single player experiences.

Edit - I did order the Uncharted games from Amazon, to satisfy my craving for now. :p

You didnt upgrade to the explosive arrows? I think I just used the AR, hitting the barrels. Then on the big boss battle I just let the guy come close, double dodged, shot him in the back with explosive arrows or shotgun, kill the two new guys who would spawn, and repeat. I never really had any problems with ammo throughout the game, which I appreciate. I think I only ran out of AR ammo a few times, but its probably cause towards the 3/4 mark I was just rushing through and probably didnt look for ammo like I did early on. I really like the AR maxed out with a silencer.

What they should do is have two person coop instead of competitive MP.

With the last boss, just keep scrambling/rolling around him... he'll knock out the spawning minions eventually.

I've only played on normal, but the bow and handgun were fine for most of the game. The bow had a bit of draw time but the handgun, with the hair trigger upgrade, was just as fast as the AR in terms of actual kills (AR wasted a lot of ammo on recoil). My favorite weapon out of the game, easily.

But yeah, just beat the game. My only gripe was that those skill upgrades were mostly useless... beyond the additional salvage and the brawler upgrades, the rest were useless. Most of the final combat ones were just different animations for the axe kill...
