Unmasking Judicial Tyranny
Monday, April 11, 2005
Dr. James Dobson discusses a new book by conservative talk show host Mark Levin. The topic is both timely and revealing. Levin joins Dr. Dobson by discussing Men in Black, which details the outrageous examples of the out-of control judiciary. It?s content that brings truth to the forefront!

Skip ahead to about the 22:50 point. Dobson compares the judges to members of the KKK.

This idiot (Delay) rants about judical that is unaccountable to the public. Apparently some where he forgot one of the basics of our form of government. The judical is susposed to be unaccountable to the public, they are accountable to the LAW.

Delay is just another stupid greedy arrogant politician who throws tantrams like a 5 year old when he can't get his way. How sad that this man has risen to anything higher than garbage man.

1) DeLay stated that he would skuttle the omnibus bill if the funds were not in there.

2) Bush stated that the bill would be rejected if the funds were not in there.

Where were the politicians with the determination to stand up and be counted?
All it would take is for one Democrat to force the issue and hold up the government.

Nice try blaming the Democrats for what Bush and Delay are doing.

To be fair, the Democrats DO have some responsibility because they are too COWARDLY to fight back.

Ofcourse, why should they fight back? They're on the same frickin' side!

Haven't heard from Trent Lott up until now.

This is funny.

4-13-2005 DeLay Urges GOP to Blame Dems Over Ethics

House Majority Leader Tom DeLay, hoping to hold support among fellow Republicans, urged GOP senators Tuesday to blame Democrats if asked about his ethics controversy and accused the news media of twisting supportive comments so they sounded like criticism.

DeLay recommended that senators respond to questions by saying Democrats have no agenda other than partisanship, and are attacking him to prevent Republicans from accomplishing their legislative program.

The officials who described DeLay's brief remarks noted that the session, a regularly scheduled weekly lunch, was held under rules of secrecy.

"That's the problem, you know, Republicans eat their own. ... Democrats stand by their own until hell freezes over," said Lott, who was ousted as Senate majority leader two years ago after making controversial race-based comments at a birthday party for the late Strom Thurmond.

"I'm the biggest slimeball, corporate-interest whore in the history of U.S. politics but it's all the Democrats' fault. Yeah....that's the ticket."

blame everyone else except yourself

seems a pretty typical republican thing to do

recession--- clinton's fault
infaltion outpacing wage increase---- america is "adjusting to the global economy"
ethics violations------ its the democrats fault, and the libral media
gas prices---- its refinement capacity (i mean who 2would actually beleive a fall of 40% of the american dollar would increase the price of gas more than 50% when the value of gas is based off the american dollar)

huge defecits------ its because of reckless democratic spending (even though pubs control all three legislative branches)

i think that about sums up the blame game

Even Newt Gingrich is putting the Bugman in his place (damn that Liberal Gingrich!!)

http://cbsnewyork.com/topstories/topstories_story_103122313.html
WASHINGTON (CBS) There was fresh criticism Tuesday of embattled House Majority Leader Tom DeLay from a prominent member of his own party.

In an exclusive interview with CBS News Correspondent Gloria Borger, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich said it's time for DeLay to stop blaming a left-wing conspiracy for his ethics controversy and to lay out his case for the American people to judge.

"I don?t want to prejudge him and my hope is that Tom will be able to prove his case," said Gingrich, who engineered the Republican takeover of the House in 1994. "But I think the burden is on him to prove it at this point."

Is he doing that? "I don?t know yet. I think the jury's out," said Gingrich.

"DeLay's problem isn?t with the Democrats; DeLay's problem is with the country," Gingrich continued. "And so DeLay has a challenge: to lay out a case that the country comes to believe, that the country decides is legitimate. If he does that he's fine."

No doubt about it - DeLay is a total douche.

Heh, every time I think about him, I'm reminded of that South Park with the "Biggest Douche in the Universe" award. I think DeLay would win by a landslide.

One thing I don't understand about him, why isn't be being dragged out and flogged by the Republicans (or even the Democrats for that matter)? It seems like he is getting away with WAY more crap than he should.

My theory on why the Republicans aren't going after Delay is that they have to keep up this facade of "moral values". If they even acknowledge Delay's wrongdoings, they would, in effect, put a dent in that armor, so to speak.

I think delay just knows enough to bring a lot of repugs down with him if he goes down.
I doubt he is just an isolated incident. GOP is corrupt to its core.

Oh I agree it is... the GOP has been complete corrupt for a long time now. I'm referring to the GOP's veil of BS when it comes to the general public. They'll keep trying to deflect and deflect onto the Democrats.

Somthing about Delay makes me uncomfhortable too. But the whole political system has been completly corrupt for a long time. But its the party of the needy where all the con artist have primarily flocked to. Dont be so......

Got a question - Who out of all our elected officials thinks it's OK to take a
$ 100,000 weekend pleasure trip, I don't think that's what was intended.

Do you think that DeLay & friends are more entitled to a free fabulous
vacation than either you or I am ?

Do you believe that there are companies out there that just through the goodness
of their hearts should be paying your wife and daughter of the cuff -
to the tune of a half a million dolars, because you're a cool dude ?

It's Corruption, Bribery, and Extortion.

Trafficant's problem is that he didn't steal enough, unlike DeLay who steals for all.

This guy is gone. Paying a half million to his wife and daughter for "working on his campaign" fails the smell test for the average American. The only issue is will this truth get out to the public perception or will it be overwhelmed the by the spin Delay is pushing.

Crooked politicians are nothing new-especially those from Texas or Chicago. His political philosophy or religious bent is irrelevant at this point.

House of Cards may fall down.

Tom Delay's House Of Scandal

Republican Ex-Lawmakers Accuse House of Protecting DeLay

Ten former Republican U.S. lawmakers on Friday urged a reversal of new House of Representatives ethics rules that they charged were changed to protect Majority Leader Tom DeLay from further investigation.

In an open letter to Republican House Speaker Dennis Hastert of Illinois, the former lawmakers said the rule changes early this year, which make it more difficult to probe an ethics complaint, must be reversed "to restore public confidence in the people's House."

"We felt grave concern when the Republican leadership changed the ethics rules ... We saw it as an obvious action to protect Majority Leader Tom DeLay," the letter said.

I was on vacation when all of this happened. . . so, I am still extremely outside of the powercurve on this one.

Im waiting for our first real good lashing between the liberals and conservatives in the House. Will be extremely entertaining CSPAN watching. . . lol

DeLay Apologizes for Comments
Leader Wouldn't Say Whether He Wants Schiavo Judges Impeached

By Mike Allen
Washington Post Staff Writer
Thursday, April 14, 2005; Page A05

House Majority Leader Tom DeLay (R-Tex.) apologized yesterday for heated comments he made about possible retribution against federal judges for their handling of the Terri Schiavo case, but declined to say whether he favors impeaching those judges.

DeLay created a furor last month by saying that "the time will come" for federal judges who refused to restore the brain-damaged Florida woman's feeding tube "to answer for their behavior," and by criticizing what he called an "arrogant, out-of-control, unaccountable judiciary." President Bush, Vice President Cheney and other top Republican leaders did not endorse those statements and said they support an independent federal judiciary.

DeLay addressed his earlier comments during a crowded news conference at the Capitol. "I said something in an inartful way, and I shouldn't have said it that way, and I apologize for saying it that way," he said. "It was taken wrong. I didn't explain it or clarify my remarks, as I'm clarifying them here. I am sorry that I said it that way, and I shouldn't have."

Pathetic POS. He apologizes, not for saying what he did, but for the way he said it.

I still don't think there will be enough to ever oust Delay, way too much money behind him.

5-5-20052 Republicans Step Aside From Ethics Panel

Two Republicans on the House ethics committee say they'll step aside from any investigation of Tom DeLay, acknowledging their contributions to the majority leader's defense funds will lead others to question their impartiality.

Where's that 'One armed Man' ?

<The Fugitive>

Tom DeLay sneaks around the Capitol like a fugitive these days, using back doors and basement passages to avoid television cameras. He skips meetings where reporters might get a chance to film his answers to their questions. He makes unscheduled appearances so he won't attract a media mob and disrupt colleagues' events.

And it still doesn't work

At 11 yesterday morning, the House majority leader made an unannounced stop at a meeting of a high-tech group. But word got out, and a score of reporters, producers, photographers, cameramen and sound men with boom microphones were there to greet him. When he left midway through the meeting, the pack chased him down a hall and up the stairs, shouting questions about the House ethics committee, which may investigate him, and prosecutor Ronnie Earle in Austin, who already is.

"Earle says you're America's problem," a questioner shouted. "What do you say to that?"

DeLay said nothing to that. He scrambled through a crowd of tourists -- one of whom filmed the pack as it chased the Texas Republican -- and disappeared into the unmarked back door to his office. It was another routine morning for the former exterminator who is now the most hunted man in Congress.

Yesterday's installment of the chase began at 9 a.m., at the weekly meeting of the GOP House caucus. Last week, DeLay tried to thwart reporters by using the back door, but this backfired and he found himself cornered by cameras in the bowels of the Capitol, calling for security. Now, reporters suspect, he has aides figure out which entrance has the fewest cameras.

Through good scouting or good luck, DeLay encountered only a couple of cameras as he entered and left the caucus meeting yesterday through the front door. "My camera's at the back door!" one producer protested. "Sorry about that," the majority leader said with a grin. As the journalists stalked DeLay, House Speaker J. Dennis Hastert came and went, attracting about as much attention as if he were still an Illinois high school wrestling coach.

At 10 a.m., the House GOP leadership called a news conference to celebrate its achievements over the past 100 days. The session attracted all the leadership heavyweights: Hastert, Majority Whip Roy Blunt, Conference Chair Deborah Pryce, Rules Committee Chairman David Dreier. But DeLay was conspicuously absent.

Pryce lamented that the House Republicans' passage of tort, bankruptcy, energy and class-action legislation "is not getting a ton of play." And it quickly became clear why. After the lawmakers had their say, the first questioner turned the subject to DeLay, asking about possible changes in travel restrictions for members.

"I've always urged members to travel," Hastert ventured, "to have this type of intercourse with the world."

The only safe place in public for DeLay these days is the House floor, where he is surrounded by affectionate colleagues and journalists are not allowed to speak. Stopping in to vote after lunch, DeLay gave a brief shoulder rub to the Republican floor leader, then worked the room as his party voted down a Democratic amendment on an education bill.

Things are not so friendly out in the corridors, where cameras lurk. When a photographer caught him slipping out the back door of his office last week, DeLay shouted for the photos to stop. For his weekly session with the news media -- off camera -- reporters yesterday were herded into DeLay's office, while the leader was escorted into the back entrance by bodyguards and his press secretary.

There, away from the cameras, DeLay gave vent to his anger. Told that Democrats are seeking bipartisan support for new ethics rules, he laughed and said: "I bet they are. I'm not interested in the water that they're carrying for some of these leftist groups."

Asked about criticism of his ethics from an outside organization, he replied: "You really think a leftist group like that will have an impact on people that support me and support what I'm trying to accomplish here? Heh, heh, heh. I don't think so."

DeLay said he is "absolutely" confident he'll be vindicated, and he hinted at a line of defense against charges that he improperly went on travel funded by a lobbyist. "I think most members have done things on what they understand to be on the up and up," he said. "They may not understand the rules, which are confusing, but I don't know of any member that has intentionally tried to break the House rules or circumvent them."

At the start, DeLay thanked questioners in advance for "sticking to the agenda," and not his ethics controversy. A few obliged, but others pressed him on his troubles, and DeLay yielded to the inevitable.

By the end of the half-hour session, the majority leader was raising the ethics fracas himself. Asked about this week's British elections, he replied wryly. "I'm having enough of a time here to worry about what goes on in London," he said, adding: "Maybe I could take a trip to see it."
