Discussion Tom Brady should quit

Yet, apparently, they're managing to ass-rape my beloved Packers... (paused the game to eat...barely into the 2nd qtr...but have seen the dismal score)

He is just embarrassing himself...and Tampa Bay looks terrible.
while i think Brady should have retired on top (ie: when New England dropped him last year), he did kill the packers 38-10 today.

but yeah, what else does he have to prove by keep playing?
anything short of another superbowl appearance just tarnishes him.

It's not about proving anything. It's about the love and passion for the game and the drive to keep playing

Alex Smith should have retire too but he had all that surgery and is trying to make a comeback. I really don't know what drives these guys....must be an addiction.

I only watched some of the game but Gronk seems to be finally getting back up to NFL speed. He was a passenger out there for a while.

I think that helps a ton. But Brady has to make the throws. He's still a great QB.

well, it's like those champion mma fighters that keep fighting past their prime and tarnishing their image.
ie: Anderson Silva, former middle weight champion

he should have done like Welterweight Champion Georges St-Pierre, who retired on top as champion after defending his belt a good # of times

I will always wonder what life would be like if the tuck rule cheating hadn't overturned the fumble and the raiders had won the super bowl like they were supposed to.

I think Brady should have retired after the pats won the super bowl after the 2018 season. (Gronk did it right and should have stayed retired.) That said, it does "feel" like playing badly tarnishes his reputation, but logically that does not make sense. It does nothing to take away from the success that he has had. He still can play well, as evidenced by today's game, but his problem now seems to be consistency. (Part of this could be due to playing on Tampa instead of the Pats too.)

Alex Smith is another situation entirely. I dont know the final medical status of his leg, but it seems he is seriously risking his health and getting a permanent serious injury every time he steps onto the field. I respect his toughness and courage, but it just seems foolhardy to take the risks he is taking, especially at this stage of his career. I can see this perhaps in a younger QB who needs to set himself up financially, but Smith has played for a lot of years, and must be set financially for the rest of his life.

Maybe he doesn't care as much about his reputation as his love of his game. And if he does I'm sure he can curl up into the arms of his hot wife, lift his heavy superbowl ring laden hand up to his eyes and wipe his tears away with stacks of cash till he gets his HoF jacket

if it was for the love of the game, he would have compromised and stayed with new england?

Compromise on what? Everything I've heard (Not that I have kept close tabs on it) is that the relationship soured. If you're Tom Brady and you don't like playing for NE anymore but still love the game you can find someplace else that would love to have you and would likely commit to addressing things you don't like. I mean to get Tom Brady I just also need to commit to listening to his ideas, not ban his personal trainer and friend and make him feel like we want him to play for us. Ok I can do that

oh.. did not know it soured.
thought it was just a money issue.

so brady and Bill billocheck arent best buds anymore?

It is amusing that the failing Brady is 4-2 at the moment. And it would have been 5-1 had they not lost by a point against the Bears. And that IS the failing Tom Brady you are all talking sh!t about. What if he gets better a month from now?

LOL, I am conveying my cynicism to you guys. Jealousy of a failing QB and you complaining about him encroaching on your team's success is just amusing.
