Not even sure how that applies here really.

I even used to live in Anderson in the late 80's and drank with him at a Holiday Inn club there at the time, is where they do their spring training, or used too I don't know these days.

I'm not sure how it applies to Brady's actions really.

Story in today's Boston Globe about both sides filing their versions on why they think they are right/wrong and it doesn't look like Goodell is going to do much in the "settlement" area either, "Berman has strongly encouraged both sides to reach a settlement, but Saturday at the Pro Football Hall of Fame, Goodell told the Canton (Ohio) Repository that he doesn’t intend to lower Brady’s suspension.

“The integrity of the game is something we will always protect. The rules apply to everybody,” Goodell said. “Listen, he’s a great player and he’s a great young man. We issued the decision just last week. We’re in the midst of litigation to . . . ensure that that’s enforced the way we ruled on that, after a long process that is established in our collective bargaining agreement. That’s something we’ll play through.”

Goodell is still trying to play the "Brady cheated and is being punished for it" card, despite that being, at the vest best, ambiguous if Brady had any involvement. He should have switched his story to "Brady intentionally hindered the investigation and is being punished for that". That would hold much more weight, IMO.

But then the only precedent would be the Brett Farve case where he refused to let the NFL see what was on his phone and that was a $50K fine, not a 4 game suspension totaling well over $1.5 million in Brady's case. IMPO if either of the parties comes into the courtroom with a "fuck no, I'm not budging an inch" attitude then they will defiantly wind up in the Judge's dog-house. Amazingly even Antonio Cromartie came out the other day and said he didn't think what Brady did (or possibly did) deserved 4 games. Comparing 1/2 lb of PSI to using PED's as Goodell has compared is absolutely laughable. The fact that Brady actually played BETTER in the 2nd half of the AFCCG when the balls were adjusted speaks for itself

Goodell is doubling down and playing ostrich.

One has to wonder if this latest "leak" is going to piss off the Judge right from the get-go, he was adamant he wanted both side to try and settle matters without him making a ruling and now he hears this?, kind of like Goodell saying "fuck you" to the court before the talks start Wednesday..

No TV is allowed in Federal court.

The leaks about Brady's comments on Manning prove that he cannot trust Goodell not to leak other private information, unrelated to the investigation. Brady was right not to give the phone to Goodell. I hope he sues Goodell and the NFL owners for $100M or more for defamation. Goodell has to go. He's totally inept, and not just for this.

Of course Goodell just HAD to announce that Brady destroyed his phone 3-4 hours BEFORE he announced he was upholding the 4 games. Thing is Well's had full access to the phones from the people TB texted or emailed and even had BB's phone. While many are happy as a clam that the Pat's and Brady are getting the hammer maybe they should be concerned about what THEY might face if any issue arises.

I can't understand why American doesn't like Tom Brady. Tom Brady is essentially the American dream. He was drafted as a career backup in the 6th round. He wasn't very athletic, he didn't have a cannon arm, he wasn't some great prospect. Yet, despite all his "averageness" he got a chance and showed he was an all time great. He is a football rags to riches story. We love Russell Wilson because of this, but hate Tom Brady? Tom Brady's career is literally the American dream. We aren't a country of haves and have nots; we are a country of haves and don't have yets.

That's because Tom Brady is pretty, and he bangs supermodels. Don't be hatin'!

He is essentially Earth's representation should an Alien race requested for one.

He isn't that pretty and he only bangs supermodels because of who he became AFTER hitting the NFL lotto. If a regular guy hit the real lotto for a couple hundred million, he'd be banging super models as well.

NFLPA: Tom Brady never given notice of suspension possibility, only fine

Although this provision does not specifically deal with ball tampering, the Player Policies also contain a catchall provision for “Other Uniform/Equipment Violations.” Id. The Policy expressly provides that: “First offenses will result in fines.” Id. (emphasis in original). Whatever the Commissioner’s desire to suspend Brady, as a CBA arbitrator, he lacked authority to disregard the undisputed fact that Brady only had notice of a potential fine for a first-time equipment violation.”

Hmm, seems some of the owners are getting frustrated with how much of their $$ has been blown on "Deflategate" and how (with the now released appeal transcripts) the league is taking a huge PR hit, link.

kraft and brady need to publicly refuse any settlement and whip the league in court, demanding a full retraction and apology

This is likely why Brady will win an appeal. The NFL has all these set rules and punishments, but Goodell goes his own way and fucks it up.

They should, at least Brady should. Kraft has a bigger part in the league and more to lose, but Brady could give a fuck. Worst case scenario, he misses 4 games and possibly doesn't get a renewed contract, walks away from the NFL with hundreds of millions AND as one of the greatest of all time. This won't hurt his legacy. The NFL shouldn't even want to fight this. Goodell continues to keep this shit up and is now pissing off the owners. The only reason he wasn't fired for the Ray Rice and AP shit was because the owners had his back. Think they still do?

the owners that are actively pulling his strings are patriots' rivals. they, and especially goodell, are getting more radioactive every day.

Did anyone REALLY believe that the Ravens owner Stephen J. Bisciotti, Jerry Jones (who would stand to benefit by Brady's absence vs the Cowboys) and that pill-popping alcoholic POS Jim Irsay didn't pressure Goodell to keep Brady's suspension at 4 games?. Now with most people still believing Brady was involved somehow have looked at the blatant lies "leaked" to the public, Goodell using Well's and Well's lawyers at Brady's appeal, an out of control front office hell bent on over-punishing anyone for anything and are plain sick at what they see. Now Ditto the owners and even players like Suggs and Cromartie all saying this was the most embarrassing witch-hunt ever launched against no less than the leagues SB MVP. The reason they feel that way is because they feel THEY might be the next one in line for Goodell's wrath if they should come in his radar screen for any infraction.

Over this season a TON of attention is going to be on the balls. I can't wait for stories to start out how the balls don't deflate. Then gradually as the cold weather hits they are going to have to admit that yes the balls do lose some PSI.

The shitfest that is going to happen this year is going to be great. I for one can't wait for it.

Watching the pre-game last night it even started. the topic of the balls and infation came up often.
