Maybe they'll compare drug addiction stories???

So drug addiction is not a disease and can be joked about?

Gotya.

It is a choice... not a disease

Rush had severe back pain, he was prescribed pain killers, he became addicted, doesn't sound like a choice.

Trying illegal drugs and then becoming an addict is a choice. You choose to use the illegal drug in the first place.

Rush was not addicted to illegal drugs though, he was addicted to a prescription drug that a doctor TOLD him to take. Very big difference. Nobody chooses to become addicted to prescription pain pills, it destroys lives, marriages and careers.
If you undergo some sort of surgery and a doctor tells you to take Oxycodone/OxyContin you could very well become addicted to it yourself.

It is illegal to go doctor shopping for them though. Nice job leaving that out by the way.
Once you are addicted you will do anything you can to feed that addiction.

BTW: They were never able to prove the Doctor shopping allegation they did not even charge him with a crime.

Actually, he was charged and it was dropped per the deal he made to stay in drug treatment.

Lets' not confuse PJ with facts.

Whatever addiction is a weakness not an illness, whether it's alcohol or Zyban, prescribed or not.

The whole illness thing is just another example of how people avoid responsibility and want to become a victim.

This is why people want to sue McD's for getting fat or people that smoke want to sue big tobacco.

Bush puts the special into "Special Guest". You know things are desperate when this close to an election you appear on shows that serve to only appeal to the diehards and know that it will turn off the Uncommitted.

You know, that's exactly what an Army Ranger said to me. He could go for days without water, eat bugs, etc. Yet when it came to alcohol for some reason he couldn't stop drinking.
Of course its a weakness. Plenty of people like this Army Ranger who basically live a life of overcoming adversity are alcoholics so it must be a weakness.
NOT.

You are so pathetic.. I honestly feel for you.. Did he have a valid prescription for that many DRUGS? He was told to QUIT THE DRUGS Right?

Seek DRug Counseling and submit to Urinalysis.. TRUE?

You are really a jerk for using your intellect to try and cover for scum like Rush

Details of the agrement
"... [T]he State Attorney's Office and Mr. Limbaugh have reached an agreement whereby a single count charge of doctor shopping filed today by the State Attorney will be dismissed in 18 months. As a primary condition of the dismissal, Mr. Limbaugh must continue to seek treatment from the doctor he has seen for the past two and one half years. This is the same doctor under whose care Mr. Limbaugh has remained free of his addiction without relapse. Mr. Limbaugh and I have maintained from the start that there was no doctor shopping, and we continue to hold this position. Accordingly, we filed today with the Court a plea of 'Not Guilty' to the charge filed by the State
Limbaugh claims the deal was made because the state could not prove in a court of law the Dr shopping allegation. Limbaugh was already doing what the terms of the agreement called for so he really did not have to admit to anything.
Looks like a case of the prosecute saving face by making a deal that allowed him to file a charge, but not ever having to prove that charge.

But you might see it a different way.
Enough on Limbaugh and drugs for this thread.

Boy, he must have been in severe pain to get a perscription to such an addicting pain pill.

How did he hurt his back? Golfing?

One simple question for you....

If it was so concrete that they couldn't prove anything, why accept a plea? I know that if I was ever in that position and was completely innocent I wouldn't take a deal.

Don't forget, Rush also paid a $30,000 fine in the deal.

The risk for dependency is mostly ameliorated by proper dosage. Typically addicts are people who started abusing the drug and became dependent.

So what exactly about my last post was incorrect???? Oh, I see. It was .............. nothing. Thanks for proving me right though. And you also just proved yourself wrong since you said he was never charged. Feel free to forget about this thread and never come back like you always do.

If he didn't do anything wrong, he has nothing to be afraid of, right????? That is the right's talking point with respect to privacy matters at least.
