Congrats Jason! It sounds like you are getting to the point where you realize that being sober will not solve all your problems, but does remove a whole 'nother set of problems:)
It's been 18 years on the 13th for me.

And I have never heard it put quite like that. It makes a lot of sense. Being sober doesn't solve anything, learning to deal with life's problems while sober does.

Hmm, I suppose it's unwise to say "Let's go and grab a beer to celebrate" ???

On a more serious note, Congratulations to you! I hope things get better for yah. Besides, Officer Friendly says don't drink...

I'm beginning to think sobriety is over rated and that drinking/being drunk is overly taboo.

I think my scale is wacky too. I enjoy the taste of all the alcohol I drink but still don't find much point in drinking unless I'm going to get a buzz or get drunk.

Congrats rudedude. I don't have alcoholism-related experience, but I know the pain of battling an addiction.

izzat teh "Magic Mormon Underwear" you're talking about?
looks uncomfortable...and walking around the malls in Jewtah, you see too many "defectives" who appear to have been "strained through the garments."

Congratulations!

So, is that it, done deal? Do you still have any desire for alcohol, or does it ever cross your mind?
