Great job man. Don't slip. I quit close to 10 years ago, don't miss it a bit. I can't stand the smell of it now, and I can't believe the tobacco companies get away with producing a product that is specifically designed to kill you, still. I can't think of one other company that produces a product that has absolutely no beneficial qualities and is as sickly rich as the tobacco corps.

That is awesome hvnsnt. I kicked the habit last fall, but now when I'm on the golf course having a , my friends light one up and I usually bum one or two per round! AGH! This is how it started last year!

 to you tho - seems like you are enjoying life more now! frickin' A! :)

I have a LOT of respect for you.

I absolutely loathe smokers, and have no respect for them or what they do to their bodies.

Today I am quitting smoking for good. I have smoked for 12 years, and now it is time. It is going to be rough. :)

Day 1. I am trying the patch, I am sitting here buzzing. I still want a cig, even with the patch on.. I am just going to have to fight it.
-The day is now half over.. So far the hardest thing was driving into work. Tomorrow I think I am going to take a needle and prick my skin underneath the patch! :Q (j/k)

[Week 2 Update]
Well made it a full week so far!!!

I even went out and got RIIIIIIPPED on friday, and still did not smoke one.. That was freaking hard!

[30 Day Update]
Well today marks my 30th day without a single puff on a sig. I sent an email to cigarettes and this is what they sent back (yes, this is for real)

From: Cigarettes <admin@healthmedia.com>

Subject: You have made a good Decision
To: hevnsnt@geemail.com

Dear Bill,

Thank you for being honest about your feelings. Although we've
been close, I admire your decision to put me aside and move
forward with your life. You have made a smart choice for
yourself and your loved ones. I wish you a happy smoke-free
life.

53 Day Update
STILL SMOKE FREE! I have not even had a freaking puff off one (new years was a challenge, but I drank my way through it) I am no longer on the patch or any other crutch.. I have to say the patch worked pretty damn good.

53 Days down!

178 Days of Not SMOKING!!!
Today is the 178th day of not smoking for me.. Man this is straight tits.

Have no idea who you are , and this is the first time I've seen the thread.. but here's a huge pat on the back. Keep it up. My Dad quit cold turkey back in the 60's just as you have. (when the real warnings came out). Regardless, I'm proud of ya.
